Give a deserving building another chance by nominating them to the
2009 Heritage Ohio Top Opportunities list!
Each year Heritage Ohio chooses ten buildings to get statewide attention as a Top Opportunity. The Heritage Ohio Top Opportunity list represents diverse building types that have special potential for their hometowns. Inclusion on the list can get a building in front of a public ready to see the promise it holds.
The criteria for selection takes into account the building’s historic significance; the potential impact for the community; and the readiness and availability of community support. Nominated buildings may be currently under-utilized or just waiting for imaginative redevelopment.
Heritage Ohio’s Top Opportunity program encourages Ohioans to see the hidden possibilities in their very own neighborhoods. What’s a vacant building today may be tomorrow’s hot spot! Imagine the potential in that nearly forgotten building: loft housing, the latest restaurant or retail establishment or a new center of commerce! Even better, using our historical assets helps develop individualized local destinations that broadcast each Ohio community’s unique style and history.
Nominations will be accepted until 5pm April 4th. The Top Opportunities will be announced at the Heritage Ohio’s Annual Preservation and Revitalization Conference on May 7th in Cleveland, OH.
