Joyce has served as Heritage Ohio’s Executive Director since 2007, prior to that she was Director of Preservation.  Joyce began her career in the museum field: working while at Iowa State University at the Brunnier Museum; serving a one year internship at the Smithsonian Institution’s political history department; and finally landing at the Arizona Historical Society after earning her BS in History. Following completion of her MBA at Arizona State University, she served as Associate Executive Director of the Arizona Historical Society. Following the birth of her first child and a move back to Iowa, Joyce was the neighborhood representative to the Iowa City Historic Preservation Commission. She also worked for Tallgrass Historians, before taking the position as the first Executive Director of the Iowa Historic Preservation Alliance.  She and her husband Jim and their three (now grown) children moved to Ohio in 2002.

Frank returned to Heritage Ohio in January 2007 as program manager, after serving as Heritage Ohio’s director of historic preservation 2002-2003. As Director of Preservation, Frank provides program support for Heritage Ohio’s preservation initiatives, including the easement program, and Save Ohio’s Treasures. Frank serves on the Ohio Historic Sites Preservation Advisory Board and on the Ohio National Road Association board. He previously was the main street manager in Marshall, Michigan, and was community preservation specialist with Indiana Landmarks. Frank graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2002 with a master’s degree in historic preservation planning. He also completed the Building Preservation Technology associate degree program at Belmont College in St. Clairsville in 1997. Frank didn’t know it at the time but he was destined to become a preservationist after reading The House With a Clock In Its Walls in fourth grade.

Frances came to Heritage Ohio in August 2016 from Main Street Delaware where she had served as the Executive Director since 2007. She has a background in Art, Education, Ministry, Lighting Design and Drafting. She is a Delaware, Ohio native and began her career with Main Street Delaware, Inc. as a volunteer. Hamilton spent nearly 7 years volunteering for Main Street Delaware as a tour guide, committee member, committee chair person and board member before being offered the position of Executive Director in 2007. During her time as Executive Director, Main Street Delaware consistently achieved national accreditation from the Nation Trust for Historic Preservation and has received statewide recognition for its successful program. Currently, as the director of revitalization, Frances provides program support for Heritage Ohio’s Main Street programs, and works with communities interested in pursuing downtown revitalization.

Pearl first started working with Heritage Ohio at the end of 2013 as a Revitalization Intern while completing her B.S. in City and Regional Planning at The Ohio State University. After graduating she stayed with Heritage Ohio, serving two years with AmeriCorps through the Ohio History Connection’s Ohio History Corps as our Workshops and Communications Coordinator. During that time she helped launch the Young Ohio Preservationists, redeveloped and modernized Heritage Ohio’s website, hosted the webinar series, coordinated our continuing education credits for the American Institute of Architects, designed and published Revitalize Ohio, and was consistently been a valuable member of the Heritage Ohio team.  As the Downtown Program Coordinator, Pearl serves as the coordinator for the Franklin County Downtown Works Program and Downtown Affiliate Program, as well as associate coordinator of the Ohio Main Street Program.

Devin served with Heritage Ohio as an AmeriCorps volunteer for three years 2010-2013. During those years Devin initiated our webinar series as well as coordinated our continuing education credits for the American Institute of Architects and the American Planning Association. Devin earned his MBA at Antioch University New England and his BA in History at the University of Findlay.
