Commercial Districts Manager

The Municipality of Mt. Lebanon, PA is seeking resumes for the full-time position of Commercial Districts Manager.  The position is responsible for coordinating activities and improving the business climate in the municipality’s commercial areas.  Job responsibilities include developing and implementing a main street plan for the central business district, special events (including obtaining sponsorship and donors) to promote public awareness and use of commercial districts, and communications among business parties;  acting as liaison between commercial district constituents and other business related entities, and as staff liaison to related boards; working to recruit and retain businesses; obtaining and administering appropriate federal and/or state grant funding; utilizing revitalization tools as appropriate.  Job requires strong communication, organization, management and leadership skills, the ability to work independently on a flexible schedule, and good working knowledge of computer applications, including desktop publishing and GIS.  Also requires knowledge of economic development practices and funding tools, main street program principles, special event planning and volunteer management, and marketing with preference for knowledge of adaptive building reuse and downtown revitalization and redevelopment.  Bachelor’s degree with three to five years experience in business/community/downtown development and/or marketing and promotion required.  Starting salary $53,400-$60,080 with excellent fringe benefits.  Resume by May 30, 2008 to Stephen Feller, Manager, 710 Washington Road, Pittsburgh PA 15228.  Complete job description available at www.mtlebanon.org.
