Cambridge Main Street
Located at the crossroads of I-70 and I-77, Cambridge is a must-see for young and old alike. Special events include the annual Hopalong Cassidy Festival, honoring a local hero, in the Spring. The Cambridge Main Street Farmers Market runs May through October, featuring local produce and homemade foods and crafts, every Friday on the Guernsey County Court House lawn. The Historic National Road Yard Sale, America’s longest continuous yard sale stretching from Baltimore to St Louis, runs through the heart of downtown Cambridge in early June. The Classic Car Show, and a Bike Show and Rib Fest, both held during the summer months, offer several blocks of food and fun. Our annual October Fall Festival kicks off the autumn season with food, crafts and activities surrounded by the colorful leaves of a wide variety of trees indigenous to our locale. Our winter season begins with the annual Christmas Parade, a Steeple Walk, which is a walking tour of beautifully decorated area churches, a Chocolate Walk, tavern tasting and many craft shows, bazaars and musical performances. Unique to Cambridge are the Dickens Victorian Village characters and scenes. Life-sized replicas of the beloved characters in Charles Dickens’ famous A Christmas Carol are dispersed throughout the downtown. As we enter our seventh season, we showcase the city’s new streetscape with new street lamps, trees and benches. Our display has grown to 88 scenes, with nearly 180 unique characters, each portraying a slice of life from Victorian times.
