>> Downtowntown Assessment Visits
The Downtown Assessment Resource Team visit, or DART, is designed to assist any community in Ohio in addressing their downtown issues and identifying the necessary revitalization efforts. Through the visit, participants set action priorities for taking significant steps in building comprehensive business management solutions within their downtown.
>> Heritage Ohio Main Street Program
Main Street is a comprehensive revitalization program that promotes historic preservation and economic development of traditional business districts in Ohio. Today there are 32 Main Street programs in Ohio and 1,668 programs nationwide.
>> Historic Conservation Easement Program
Heritage Ohio provides financial incentives to facilitate rehabilitation through a statewide Historic Conservation Easement Program. Heritage Ohio is responsible for preserving the historic integrity of these resources in perpetuity, a right donated by the owner of the historic resource. In return, the owner may realize potential federal tax credits and lowered property tax liability. Heritage Ohio accepted its first Historic Conservation Easement in December of 2004.

>> Advocacy
Nearly 20 states have made a commitment to the reinvestment of their historic resources by legislating a State Tax Credit for Rehabilitation. Heritage Ohio is currently providing leadership, fostered by strong collaboration at the local and regional levels, to advocate for the enactment of this legislation, which will revitalize large urban neighborhoods, quiet rural villages, and historic suburbs found throughout the state.
>> Technical Assistance
Recognizing the special care and expertise needed to preserve historic resources and revitalize traditional downtowns, Heritage Ohio provides on-site, phone, and electronic consultation. Additionally, members of Heritage Ohio have access to specialized consultative services offered by staff members. Heritage Ohio also provides members with specialized assistance through a fee for service program.

Heritage Ohio continues to provide a variety of learning opportunities to stakeholders with a role in the preservation and revitalization of Ohio’s historic resources. Education opportunities include workshops, seminars, and conferences sponsored by Heritage Ohio. These events provide recipients with the information, techniques, and tools needed to support preservation and revitalization in their own community.
