Appalachian Historic Theater Tour

A chance to experience the rich entertainment history of Ohio’s Appalachia coming Spring 2013.

Participants will experience:

Performances at Stuart’s Opera House in Nelsonville;
Ridges Auditorium in Athens;
Union Hall
in Chesterville;
and, finish the tour at the Twin City Opera House in McConnelsville.
In addition to visiting theaters, participants will also experience the food, art and culture of Appalachian Ohio. Lunches will be provided by local restaurants with a tour of the progressive art studio Passion Works.

Tour Host: Sarah Hurwitz

Sarah has always had a passion for theatre. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in theatre and stage management. She is currently freelancing in her field and loving every minute of it! As well as stage management Sarah dresses the Broadway Across America shows that come through Columbus. A handful of her favorites that she has worked are Wicked, 101 Dalmatians, Lion King and Mary Poppins. Besides theatre Sarah also has a passion for history and loves learning about and going to the many historic opera houses around Columbus. Sarah also loves to listen to music, read and scrapbook her many theatrical adventures. Sarah one day hopes to be on the stage management team for the National Tour of Wicked. Sarah’s by line for life is “Live every moment to fullest, Take time to smell the roses and cherish every moment”. Sarah looks forward to taking this journey with all of you to Historic Appalachia.
