  • Christmas Light Show – Cambridge
    Visit the annual Christmas Light Show in historic downtown Cambridge.
  • Dickens Victorian Village – Cambridge
    Take a trip back in time and experience old world England at historic downtown Cambridge, Ohio. It is charmingly transformed into a Dickens Victorian Village each holiday season. From November through December each year, visitors are invited to stroll amidst over 92 scenes of 180 lifelike figures representing classic scenes from the Victorian era. This innovative public art exhibition is enjoyed by families, couples, and groups alike – an experience that engages the senses as you explore the charming streetscape, striking historic architecture, and eclectic shops and eateries of Cambridge.
  • Stop, Shop, & Drop 20 – Chardon
    Chardon Tomorrow is challenging everyone to spend $20 at a locally-owned and operated business this holiday season. It’s time to give back to the local businesses who help sustain our local economy, donate to our organizations, and create our unparalleled sense of community.
  • Visit with Santa and Take a Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride – Delaware
    Get into the holiday cheer in historic downtown Delaware with horse-drawn carriage rides and visits from Santa. See events for times and dates.
  • Pour with a Purpose – Cleveland
    Brrrr, it’s cold outside! Join the Gateway and Warehouse Districts to raise money to provide monthly appreciation (hot drinks and refreshments) to our neighborhood clean and safe ambassadors during the winter months. Learn more via the link and support a worth cause.
  • North Pole Express – Lebanon
    Experience the magic of a train ride with Santa himself. During your hour long journey, Santa and his elves will make their way through the train to visit with each family. Celebrate with festive elves and holiday music while enjoying your hot chocolate and cookie. Every child will receive a bell from Santa’s sleigh.
  • Visit Santa’s House and Tour Downtown Marietta in a Carriage – Marietta
    Take a free carriage ride through historic downtown Marietta and stop by to see Santa to let him know what you want for Christmas this year. See events for times and dates.
  • Downtown Tiffin Holiday Cash Give-A-Way – Tiffin
    Shop at participating businesses Nov 15 – Dec 21 and enter to win $1000 cash. No limit to number of entries! Each participating business will also pick a winner from their entries to receive a $100 gift card to their business. Winners will be drawn Sunday, December 22 at noon at the Court House Square.
  • Downtown Tiffin Holiday Window Contest – Tiffin
    Help Downtown Tiffin celebrate the Holidays with a downtown tiffin window contest! Stop by the participating businesses and vote for your favorite. Voting begins November 30 on Small Business Saturday and ends December 5th. Winner announced at the Christmas tree Lighting on December 6th.
  • Santa House – Troy
    Come visit with Santa in downtown Troy! Santa’s House is located on Prouty Plaza in downtown Troy and Santa will be available for visits throughout the holiday season.
  • Vermilion Arts Guild Holiday Show – Vermilion
    The final show of the season puts the focus on winter and the holidays. Shop for holiday gift items among paintings, photography, jewelry, woodworking, ceramics and more all created by local Vermilion artists.
  • Wellington Community Christmas – Wellington
    November 29 – December 9 – Catch the holiday spirit with daily events in historic downtown Wellington. See the event listing for a full schedule of events.

  • Story Mob – Marietta
    Story Mobs are a little bit different than our normal Cash Mobs. Participants aren’t expected to shop, unless they want to! Instead, Story Mobbers will hear backstories about each participating business directly from the business owner. Mobbers will enjoy refreshments, live demos, sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes tours, and/or more thanks to each of our *surprise* participating locations!

  • Christmas Lights on the Square – Chardon
    Join Chardon Tomorrow as they light up the square for Christmas! Along with the colorful lights, they will have live music and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus! Cider and ginger snaps are served throughout the evening.
  • Light Up Vermilion! – Vermilion
    Christmas lights and shopping at night…in small town style. Come to Vermilion this evening an evening of holiday fun and activities.

  • Home for the Holidays Weekend – Delaware
    Main Street Delaware brings you a holiday to remember! Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 pm.  Join other families and feel the sense of love and community as we light our magnificent Christmas Tree at the corner of William and Sandusky Streets. Delaware’s tree lighting is a magical experience. Other Friday night highlights include: – Horse-drawn carriage rides $1 per person, over the age of 5 – Life-sized snow globe – Frozen themed bounce house – Visits with Santa – Carolers and live musical performances – Magic and kids activities – Shopping and store specials
  • First Friday: Art Walk – Kent
    Explore special exhibits, enjoy demonstrations, snacks, hands-on activities and more in downtown Kent.
  • First Friday: Moonlight Madness – Marietta
    December’s First Friday is a favorite for all of Marietta to enjoy! Shops are open EXTRA late for Moonlight Madness, some staying open straight through ’til midnight! Participating stores will each have a savings bucket filled with snowballs, each marked with a discount percentage ranging from 10% to 50%. Shoppers can select their merchandise and at the checkout, select a snowball for their surprise discount! Every single shopper will enjoy a discount at all participating locations throughout this entire Hometown Holidays events. Grab your holiday gift lists and head downtown for this year’s Moonlight Madness to #shoplocal this holiday season!
  • First Friday: Hometown Holiday – Medina
    Grab your friends and head to historic Medina the first Friday of each month for an evening of socializing, dining, shopping, dancing, laughing, and merriment.
  • First Friday: Hot Chocolate Walk – Middletown hot chocolate
    Downtown is getting HOT for our December First Friday! No matter the temperature outside, we will warm you up with a dozen or more Hot Chocolate Stops! Pick up your Passport Guide in Governor’s Square (corner of Central and Broad) to learn all of the tasty stops! Get stamped at each stop to be entered to win FREE HOT CHOCOLATE FOR A YEAR, thanks to our friends at Triple Moon Coffee Company and Mockingbirds! The event is family friendly but there will be “Boozy” & Delish Hot Chocolates options or mixers available for purchase at some stops for our 21+ friends.
  • Mount Vernon Christmas Festival – Mount Vernon
    The festivities downtown kick off in downtown Mount Vernon with Lights & Carols at 7:00 P.M. Santa arrives in style with a ride from Knox Motor Group. He starts the festivities by lighting the tree on the Public Square. After this, local musical groups will lead a Christmas Music sing along.
  • Christmas on the Green – Piqua
    Community caroling, horse-drawn carriage rides, strolling characters, children’s activities and live entertainment make this family-oriented holiday celebration a “must do” on many calendars. Stop in and visit downtown Piqua’s many stores to choose the perfect gift for your loved one.
  • Tree Lighting & Holiday Celebration – Tipp City
    Join Downtown Tipp City at the Zion Lutheran Church for the illumination of the Downtown Christmas Tree! This is a fun and festive event for all ages! Enjoy tunes from the Community Band, sing along with the Tipp City High School Choir, or snack on some delicious treats.
  • A Very Merry Main Street Christmas – Van Wert
    Head to historic downtown Van Wert for a day of festive celebration, including the Christmas tree lighting, Free train rides, crafts, hot cocoa, cookies, and photos with Santa. See the event listing for a full list of activities.
  • First Friday: Candlelight Walk & Gingerbread Village – Wadsworth
    Wadsworth’s traditional and cherished Candlelight Walk event a First Friday this year! Come downtown to get into the holiday spirit, stroll the luminary-lined streets, shop and dine local, and check out unique gingerbread houses on display inside of downtown businesses!
  • Downtown Churches Walking Tour – Wooster
    Tour 8 historical Downtown Wooster churches in one evening. At each church, participants can sing a Christmas carol, hear a bit of the church’s history & admire their Christmas decorations.

  • Northpole Adventures – Cambridge
    Help the less fortunate this holiday season and visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and the gang from the North Pole in historic downtown Cambridge! Pre-registration is required and admission is by donation, either monetary or a non-perishable food item listed on the event page. All items will be donated to the Grace Pantry to help stock their shelves.
  • Home for the Holidays Weekend – Delaware
    Main Street Delaware brings you a holiday to remember! Dash for Dasher Scavenger Hunt – Santa has lost Dasher! Explore downtown Delaware following Santa’s clues to find him and have fun along the way. Main Street Delaware will collect a voluntary monetary donation or a box of cereal for our local food pantries. Holiday Shopping Extravaganza! Shop downtown Delaware stores with holiday specials, deals or snacks! Participate by getting a stamp at each store you make a purchase, turn in your card for a chance to win Chocolate Walk tickets!
  • The Holiday Marietta Marketplace – Marietta
    The Holiday Marietta Marketplace is a unique, mobile curated market showcasing the products of local and regional vendors and small businesses. This marketplace is located in the heart of downtown, providing visitors the opportunity to browse booths of art, quality handcrafts, vintage goods, and much more!
  • Jingle Booze Holiday Bar Crawl – Marietta
    Join Marietta Main Street for a Holiday Bar Crawl. Participants will receive exclusive drink discounts and food offers, as well as custom merchandise opportunities.
  • Mount Vernon Christmas Festival – Mount Vernon
    The Christmas Showcase will provide various forms of Christmas themed entertainment for the whole family to enjoy! Check out downtown to join in and spread some Christmas cheer!   • Downtown Piqua Holiday Parade – Piqua
    The tradition of celebrating the holiday season with an old-fashioned hometown parade is a long one in downtown Piqua. Families and friends, young and old, fill the streets for this festive event. After the parade kids can visit with Santa in the lobby of the Fort Piqua Plaza.
  • Downtown Holiday Open House – Portsmouth
    A follow up to Small Business Saturday, the Holiday Open House welcomes everyone to downtown Portsmouth to continue holiday shopping at local businesses. Downtown businesses will offer various discounts and sales, along with other holiday treats, for shoppers. The best gift you can give isn’t only the special, unique find in a local retailer, but the business you keep local! See you downtown soon!
  • Downtown Tiffin Christmas Walk – Tiffin
    Looking for a fun way to explore downtown Tiffin? The downtown Christmas Walk is a perfect way to see all the great downtown shops! For $20, your ticket allows you to visit participating location and collect a unique treat. There are typically 20-25 stops in the downtown area. Get a group of friends together and wear your walking shoes! Prior to the walk, $35 VIP ticket holders will enjoy a brunch at the Empire 138.
  • The Christmas Tree Ship – Vermilion
    No other community can boast a Christmas tradition like this one. Main Street Vermilion invites everyone, young and old, to bundle up and gather riverside at McGarvey’s Landing for the arrival of The Christmas Tree Ship!

  • Home for the Holidays Weekend – Delaware
    Main Street Delaware brings you a holiday to remember! Holiday Parade – The Post Office also be on hand to collect your letters to Santa along the parade route!
  • Mount Vernon Christmas Festival – Mount Vernon
    The theme of this year’s Christmas parade is “Christmas in the Movies” and will include prize categories as in previous years. The parade route will come up South Main Street, around the square, and continue up North Main Street ending at the Living Center. Many local restaurants will be open for refreshments before and after the parade.
  • Tour of Lofts – Portsmouth
    Main Street Portsmouth is bringing back a classic this holiday season with the Tour of Lofts. The tour is a casual Sunday stroll through various downtown Portsmouth loft apartments that highlight ingenuity and modern creative design that complements the lifestyle of living in a dearly loved, but old and storied, space in the heart of downtown.

  • Home for the Holidays: Fire & Ice! – Chardon
    Join Chardon Tomorrow on beautiful Chardon Square for one of the premier holiday events in Northeast Ohio! Home for the Holidays is a community-wide celebration with local organizations partnering together to usher in the holidays for residents and visitors. In addition to annual favorites, like Santa at the Theater, horse-drawn carriage rides, uptown shopping, carolers, the hot cocoa bar and gingerbread contest we’ll feature live ice carving demonstrations, live reindeer (Friday), and the FIRE & ICE tower lighting. And stay warm and fit with Great Lakes Race Timing’s Frozen 4k!
  • Children’s Night – Millersburg 
    Santa in his sleigh on the Courthouse Lawn will listen to all the children’s Christmas Morning wishes while Olaf and Elsa greet them at The Village Toy Shop. While strolling along your way, stop in at participating business’s Elf Stations for treats and goodies!

    The Ugly Sweater Tavern Trek starts at the Venice Cafe (163 W. Erie St.), where attendees can check in from 5PM to 8PM to pick up their Great Lakes Christmas Ale pint glasses and trek “passes.” Pass holders will be entitled to $5 GLBC Christmas Ale (and other GLBC beers) at participating businesses. Attendees may visit as many or as few locations as they wish. All ticket holders will be entered in a raffle prize drawing. Prizes will also be awarded randomly throughout the evening for the “Ugliest Sweaters” worn by attendees. This is a great opportunity to explore downtown bars and restaurants, enjoy time with friends, and kick off the holiday season!
  • Mega Mob – Marietta
    Shop local, have fun, and meet new people in our community all at the same time.
  • Holiday Loft Tours – Marietta
    This one-day-only, self-guided, exclusive event allows participants to tour upper-floor businesses and residences in Historic Downtown Marietta. If you’ve ever been curious about what lies above our first-floor storefronts, this is the perfect opportunity to sneak a peek!
  • Holly Jolly 5k/10k – Piqua
    Hit the ground running with the holiday tradition in downtown Piqua. These annual 5K & 10K runs make use of the beautiful Piqua PATH.

    Bring the whole family for a fun afternoon at The Ritz Theatre. Santa will be in the lobby from 11:00 – 1:00 and “Polar Express” will start at 1:00.

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland

    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.

  • Dickens Victorian Village – Cambridge

    Take a trip back in time and experience old world England as historic downtown Cambridge, Ohio, is charmingly transformed into a Dickens Victorian Village each holiday season. From November through mid January each year, visitors are invited to stroll amidst over 92 scenes of 166 lifelike figures representing classic scenes from Victorian society. While in Cambridge, experience the spectacular Guernsey County Courthouse Light Show.

  • North Pole Express – Lebanon

    The LM&M Railroad will have our station area decorated with lights for the Christmas season. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available on the platform while you wait for your train and are included with your ticket. Each passenger will receive one cookie that is peanut free, egg free, tree nut free, and dairy free. Every passenger will receive a FREE souvenir hot chocolate mug. Each child will receive a special “North Pole Express” souvenir train ticket.
    During the hour long journey Santa and his elves will make their way through the train to visit with each family. Every child will receive a bell from Santa’s sleigh. We encourage you to bring your own camera, pictures with Santa are allowed and encouraged. Balloon artists will also be on-board the train.

  • Santa in Historic Downtown Tiffin – Tiffin

    Bring the kids out to visit with Jolly old St. Nick on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, December 1st – 23rd.

Pick up a card at any participating location and be sure you turn in your card to COhatch by 6pm on Saturday to be entered to win.

  • Light Up Lakewood – Lakewood

    Usher in the holiday season with this time-honored Lakewood tradition now in its 12th year. The spirit of the season will come to life with festive cheer. Attendees are invited to stroll Lakewood’s downtown district and visit local stores and restaurants while taking in the sights and sounds of one of Northeast Ohio’s largest holiday celebrations.

    Highlights include the Holiday Market inside the historic Lakewood Masonic Temple, the ever-popular Holiday Parade at 5 pm, live entertainment provided by bands and choirs, the Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 pm. at the Main Stage at City Center Park and a can’t-miss fireworks show at 7 p.m. over the rooftops of Downtown Lakewood.

  • Holiday Loft Tours – Marietta

    This one-day only, self-guided, exclusive event allows participants to tour upper-floor businesses and residences in Historic Downtown Marietta. If you’ve ever been curious about what lies above our first-floor storefronts, this is the perfect opportunity to sneak a peek!

  • Christmas Walk – Tiffin

    Enjoy the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the season in beautiful Downtown Tiffin! Spend the day strolling from business to business gathering holiday themed treats!

  • The Christmas Tree Ship – Vermilion

    No other community has a Christmas tradition quite like this one. Main Street Vermilion invites everyone, young and old, to bundle up and gather riverside at McGarvey’s Landing for the arrival of our Christmas Tree Ship, an icebreaker stocked with Christmas trees and holiday cheer. It’s a heartwarming sight to see the breaker make its way down the river. There’s music from Vermilion’s own Sid Jordan and the Vermilion Community Band, cookies, donuts and hot chocolate to keep you warm and awards for the winners of the Christmas coloring contest. Quaker Steak and Lube will host lunch with Santa following the event.

    This year’s holiday parade will start at 3 PM.  The Post Office also be on hand to collect your letters to Santa along the parade route!

  • 2018 South Main Candlelight Tour of Homes – Middletown

    The 2018 South Main Historic District Candlelight Tour of Homes will 14 historic buildings open this year, including for the very first time the Sorg Mansion.

  • Main Street Portsmouth Tour of Lofts – Portsmouth

    Main Street Portsmouth is bringing back a classic this holiday season with the Tour of Lofts. The tour is casual Sunday stroll through various downtown Portsmouth loft apartments that highlight ingenuity and modern creative design that complements the lifestyle of living in a dearly loved, but old and storied, space in the heart of downtown.

    Christmas lights and shopping at night…in small town style. Come to Vermilion this evening for dining and shopping and enjoy the window displays and decorated storefronts of our local merchants and businesses. Extended shopping hours this evening let you get a jump start on your Christmas shopping. Be sure to leave time for dinner at any of our local restaurants.

  • First Friday: North Pole Adventures – Cambridge

    Celebrate the Christmas season with costumed characters in various merchants in downtown. Santa and Mr. Claus and Miss Ohio will be in town to celebrate the fun! Register today for the festivities! Children who are pre-registered will make the reindeer hand-printed shirt craft, be able to write a letter to Santa, enjoy the make and take projects and goodies and visit with Miss Ohio and Santa!

  • Home for the Holidays – Chardon

    Home for the Holidays is a community-wide celebration with local organizations partnering together to usher in the holidays for residents and visitors. In addition to annual favorites, like Santa at the Theater, horse-drawn carriage rides, uptown shopping, carolers, the hot cocoa bar and gingerbread contest–we’ll be adding all our favorite elements from WinterFest!   • Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides – Delaware

    Every December Friday evening leading up to Christmas, enjoy a free horse-drawn carriage ride around downtown Delaware. Cozy up with your family and enjoy the festive sights of downtown. Carriage pick-up location will be in front of The Strand Theatre.

  • First Friday: Art Walk – Kent

    Join Main Street Kent for the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Kent! All participating galleries and businesses will stay open until at least 8pm on the first Friday of each month, for all to come enjoy and explore the artwork inside their businesses. Enjoy refreshments, enter in special drawings, view artist demonstrations and participate in activities throughout the downtown district.

  • First Friday: Moonlight Madness – Marietta

    Spend a Friday evening in the Medina Historic District, and visit the wonderful shops, boutiques, attractions, and so much more. Many stores open until 9pm. Planned activities include live music at different businesses, pop up art shows, and special sales.

  • First Friday: Elf Fest – Middletown

    It’s the most magical time of the year here in Downtown Middletown! Grab your elf ears and hats and “elf yourself” before heading downtown for an evening filled with cheer! Join Downtown Middletown for First Friday Festive Fun with family friendly activities including the decorating of the MIDDIE tree, Letters to Santa, choirs and carolers, dancing elves, pictures with Santa and more! And of course, all your favorite Downtown shops & restaurants will be open late! Be sure to visit them all to find the “hidden elves” to be entered to win a free tablet!

    Join Downtown Tipp City Partnership for this new First Friday event for December where the town will all be wondering, who did it?! It’s a murder mystery party taking place in Downtown Tipp City! You are encouraged to dress the part. All ticket holders will be notified in advance of their role, so you can prepare. Ticket includes food & drinks + cash bar.

  • First Friday: A Victorian Christmas: Win the Window! – Wadsworth

    Enjoy a beautifully-lit and authentic Victorian historical downtown. Chestnuts. Carolers. Shopping. Dining. Admire the wonderfully decorated storefront windows and purchase raffle tickets for your favorites. A winner will be drawn for each window, winning its contents!

  • Ugly Sweater Tavern Trek – Kent

    Join us for this festive event! Purchase tickets in advance, then check in at Venice Cafe from 5-8pm on Sat., Dec. 8. Pick up your trek pass and Great Lakes Brewing Company Christmas Ale pint glass, enter the raffle — then be on your merry way, exploring a variety of bars and restaurants in downtown Kent, dressed in your holiday best! Limit 300 participants. Tickets are non-refundable. Trek pass holders will be entitled to $5 Great Lakes Brewing Company Christmas Ale pints at participating locations. Guests may visit as many or as few locations as they wish. Please trek responsibly with a designated driver, taxi or other driving service. Proceeds from this event will benefit Kent Social Services.

    Ugly Sweater Contest – Guests will be randomly selected throughout the evening and awarded prizes for the ugliest sweaters!

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland

    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.

  • Dickens Victorian Village – Cambridge

    Take a trip back in time and experience old world England as historic downtown Cambridge, Ohio, is charmingly transformed into a Dickens Victorian Village each holiday season. From November through mid January each year, visitors are invited to stroll amidst over 92 scenes of 166 lifelike figures representing classic scenes from Victorian society. While in Cambridge, experience the spectacular Guernsey County Courthouse Light Show.

  • North Pole Express – Lebanon

    The LM&M Railroad will have our station area decorated with lights for the Christmas season. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available on the platform while you wait for your train and are included with your ticket. Each passenger will receive one cookie that is peanut free, egg free, tree nut free, and dairy free. Every passenger will receive a FREE souvenir hot chocolate mug. Each child will receive a special “North Pole Express” souvenir train ticket.
    During the hour long journey Santa and his elves will make their way through the train to visit with each family. Every child will receive a bell from Santa’s sleigh. We encourage you to bring your own camera, pictures with Santa are allowed and encouraged. Balloon artists will also be on-board the train.

    Join us for the 2018 Christmas Parade Auction! Support an annual holiday tradition in downtown Mount Vernon while gaining publicity for your business!

    A fun filled evening celebrating the kick off of the Dickens festivities. Father Christmas, magician, stilt walkers and the start of the courthouse light show! Ohio Magazine will also be in hand for the presentation of the Best Hometown Award!

  • First Friday: Celebrate Service – Delaware

    This first Friday event will feature Delaware County nonprofit organizations. The not for profit organizations will provide giveaways, information, and opportunities for people to get more involved in community service. November’s First Friday also will feature games, face-painting, cooking demonstrations, and more family-friendly fun.

  • First Friday: Art Walk – Kent

    Join Main Street Kent for the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Kent! All participating galleries and businesses will stay open until at least 8pm on the first Friday of each month, for all to come enjoy and explore the artwork inside their businesses. Enjoy refreshments, enter in special drawings, view artist demonstrations and participate in activities throughout the downtown district.

  • First Friday: Future Pioneers – Marietta

    November’s First Friday is Future Pioneers. Downtown is set to welcome and encourage all of our local young entrepreneurs to come downtown. This month’s sponsor is Marietta College, who will be located on the Armory Square. In attendance will be the Entrepreneur Program from the College, as well as Student Athletes. Local downtown businesses will be host to several local young entrepreneurs, who own and manage their own business and invite other youth of the like into their shops! Come join us to celebrate all of those who pioneer their own way!

    Also on the Armory Square, Marietta College will be providing giveaways for those who shop local, so come down to shop our local shops.

  • First Friday – Medina

    Main Street Mount Vernon is excited to again host the upcoming Ladies’ Night in downtown Mount Vernon. This adult-only event will feature open-till-8:00 pm downtown businesses, restaurants, galleries, and more.

    We will kick off at 5:30pm with a showing of Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving. Immediately following (around 6:30pm) we will show “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” This is a free event!     Did you know one of the industries Chardon was built on was macaroni? Yes, Macaroni! The Chardon Macaroni Factory was a major employer in the early days of Chardon–and we want to celebrate it!     Through an upcoming quarterly public forum, the Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Portsmouth are working in part with Community Action to bring the community together, build momentum on progress, and focus attention on just how much goes on that often goes unnoticed.

    The event is being called Portsmouth Today, and will be held every three months in the Scioto County Welcome Center. It will highlight positivity by focusing on a series of speakers who will update guests on their public events and projects, answer questions anyone may have, and hear input from those in attendance.     All are welcome to the downtown Cambridge Steeple Walk. See the beauty, architecture and grandeur of Cambridge’s homes of worship. The doors of each church will be open for a self guided tour and a member of the congregation will be available to answer questions. All churches are located near Steubenville Avenue.  This tour is FREE.

  • Holiday Open House – Delaware

    Join us for the fifth annual Main Street Delaware Holiday Open House. Main Street Delaware’s annual Holiday Open House features specials and free community events for all! Come downtown and enjoy our local shops, see Santa in his home away from the North Pole, and much more. Stores will be open their regular business hours all day Saturday.

  • Dash for Dancer – Delaware

    Oh, no! Santa has lost Dasher the reindeer! Explore downtown, following Santa’s clues to find him and have fun along the way. Along the way, you’ll gather reindeer treats, make crafts, and even see a hidden space or two within our downtown. Begin your hunt at the Main Street Delaware office at 20 E. Winter St. Stop by anytime between 11 am – 1 pm to pick up your first clue.
    This family-friendly downtown scavenger hunt is free of charge so all families are able to participate and make memories in downtown. However, Main Street Delaware is also accepting voluntary donations to help fund Christmas downtown or boxes of cereal to donate to local food banks.
    Don’t forget to stop by the Santa House, located at Strand Theatre, to tell Santa you’ve found Dasher once you’re done. Santa House will open at 1 pm on Saturday. The ice skating rink at Willis Education Center will also be open on Saturday from 12 – 9 pm.

  • Jolly Holiday Boutique Hop – Greenville

    Ladies mark your calendrs for the First Annual Jolly Holiday Boutique Hop. Shop four fabulous boutiques located in Historic Downtown Greenville.     The Annual Main Street Portsmouth Holiday Open House will be held, as usual, on two different dates this year—one before Small Business Saturday and one after. These dates fall on November 18 and December 2.   • The Christmas Tree Ship – Vermilion

    No other community can boast a Christmas tradition like this one. Main Street Vermilion invites everyone, young and old, to bundle up and gather riverside at McGarvey’s Landing for the arrival of our Christmas Tree Ship, an icebreaker stocked with Christmas trees and holiday cheer. It’s a heartwarming sight to see the breaker make its way down the river with a US Coast Guard escort, which you’re welcome to tour. There’s music from Vermilion’s own Sid Jordan and the Vermilion Community Band, cookies, donuts and hot chocolate to keep you warm and awards for the winners of the Christmas coloring contest.

  • “Delaware: You’re Home for the Holidays” Christmas Parade – Delaware

    Come out for the annual Main Street Delaware Christmas Parade. This year’s theme is “Delaware: Your Home for the Holidays.” The Delaware Post Office will be collecting children’s letters to Santa along the route. Be sure to have your little ones write their wish list and the Post Office will be sure to get them delivered safely!

  • Holiday Tour of Homes – Painesville

    Six historic locations will be open and on display by the Downtown Painesville Organization to celebrate the holiday season from 1-4 pm. Starting at the Railroad Museum on Railroad Street, the self-guided tour will take you through the Conway Land Title Building, Painesville United Methodist Church, Fitzgerald’s Irish Bed & Breakfast, the Social Parlor in College Hall at Lake Erie College, and will end at the Collacott House. Individuals are also encouraged to attend vespers at Lake Erie College following the tour at Morley Music Hall.
    This tour is to celebrate the holiday season with the community. It is also an opportunity to see and learn about the historic architecture which is not normally open to the public. Proceeds from this event will go to the Downtown Painesville Organization to support its mission of “Building a strong future, while preserving our historic past.”

  • Historic Warehouse District Holiday Tour – Cleveland

    This popular annual event features tours of Warehouse District apartments along with new developments in the neighborhood and nearby areas. At stops along the way, enjoy delicious food samplings from neighborhood restaurants and bars. Live music adds to the festivities and the evening winds down with a dessert reception.

  • Light Up Vermilion – Vermilion

    The streets of downtown Vermilion brighten for this evening of holiday shopping and fun. Downtown merchants open their doors for extended evening shopping hours, many offering special deals and refreshments to visitors. Stroll the downtown district, stop for hot chocolate or something more grown up and get yourself in the mood for winter holidays. Bring the kids to Main Street where they can write a letter to Santa and make a Christmas lantern to light the way.
    The Vermilion Arts Guild will be open that night serving up sweet treats. All the artwork and jewelry in the gallery that evening will be 10% off. This is a great place to shop small, shop local and shop for Christmas.
    After you shop, head over the Ritter Public Library for a free holiday concert by the Vermilion Music Association Concert Band at 7PM. ‘Tis the season to enjoy your community!

  • Ugly Sweater Tavern Trek – Kent

    Enjoy tasty Great Lakes Brewing Company beers on a fun holiday trek around downtown Kent. Start at the Venice Cafe: pick up your trek pass and special cup between 5pm and 8pm, and enter the Ugly Sweater Contest.
