Recurring Events

  • March 2-7: Restaurant & Retail Week – Wooster
    Restaurant & Retail week is the perfect event for you and your family to experience the very best of  historic downtown Wooster! Participating restaurants will offer specials for one week only, a select lunch menu for $10 and/or a select dinner menu for $20. Participating retailers will be offering special discounts and promotions during the week. Retailers will be open until 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 5th to allow for you to shop after work and then grab a bite to eat or drink. This year, you will have the chance to win a $100 gift card to your favorite downtown business! For your chance to win, take a selfie at a participating restaurant or retail location, make sure to tag the appropriate business and the #UniquelyWooster.

  • Celebrate Portsmouth – Portsmouth
    Main Street Portsmouth is excited for an evening of friends and neighbors, celebrating downtown success over drinks and an update from Main Street staff and board members. Dinner will be served at 7 and will feature chicken, ribs, green beans, potatoes, coleslaw, and bread from the Scioto Ribber. Admission also includes an open bar and cake from Union Mills Confectionery. Music will be performed live by Mr. Andy Russell. Throughout the evening, guests are invited to browse the silent auction and bid on items. This event is one of Main Street’s larger fundraisers, and goes a long way in ensuring the continuation of our programming, events, and grants.

  • First Friday: March for Art – Delaware
    Local businesses act as art galleries and display artwork created by students from Delaware City Schools. During First Friday, the community is invited to stop by these “art galleries” and view the amazing artwork students have created. Take some time to explore many different types of art at participating downtown establishments, including live music, artist demonstrations, author book readings, and more!
  • Kent Rainbow Weekend – Kent
    Join Main Street Kent for the first ever Kent Rainbow Weekend! Complete with comedy, a bar crawl, art exhibits, storytelling, drag shows, live music/DJs, workshops and more, come to downtown Kent and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community!
  • First Friday: Shamrock & Roll – Marietta
    Head to downtown Marietta for this music walk-themed First Friday! Local musicians will be setup in downtown shops and St. Patrick’s Day flare will be on display.
  • First Friday: Think Spring! – Medina
    Grab your friends and head to historic Medina the first Friday of each month for an evening of socializing, dining, shopping, dancing, laughing, and merriment. Remember to check out the Medina City Schools Student Art Show!
  • First Friday: St. Patrick’s Day Beer Crawl – Tipp City
    Let’s kick off March together with Downtown Tipp City‘s 4th annual St. Patrick’s Day themed Beer Crawl around Downtown Tipp City! Bring your friends and come decked-out wearing your green! Stroll around sampling beers in shops, restaurants, and other establishments downtown.
  • First Friday: Scavenger Hunt – Troy
    Businesses will be open late so that you can shop, dine, and explore! March’s First Friday will feature a Scavenger Hunt!
  • First Friday: “Donut” Miss First Friday – Wadsworth
    “Donut” miss this First Friday. Need we say more? Shop local, dine local, and show lots of love to your downtown small businesses!

  • Kent Rainbow Weekend – Kent
    Join Main Street Kent for the first ever Kent Rainbow Weekend! Complete with comedy, a bar crawl, art exhibits, storytelling, drag shows, live music/DJs, workshops and more, come to downtown Kent and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community!
  • Kent Rainbow Weekend Bar Crawl – Kent
    You’re invited to join Main Street Kent for the inaugural Kent Rainbow Weekend Bar Crawl. Check in at the Venice Cafe from 5-8pm on Sat., March 7 to pick up your bar crawl pass, Absolut mason jar and rainbow swag; and enter the grand prize raffle. Head out on the town to enjoy the night, complete with Absolut drink specials and lots of entertainment. Downtown businesses will be hosting LGBTQ+ live music, drag shows, art exhibits, karaoke, open poetry readings and more. Grab dinner at a local spot and visit as many bar crawl establishments as you wish.

  • Ladies Night Out – Medina
    Head to Medina for a “tropical evening” of shopping, dining, and socializing. Pick up an event guide at the Medina County Visitors Bureau, and then head out to the stores and restaurants for some fun. Hawaiian shirts and beach wear encouraged! Every LNO guest will receive a shopping passport to use at participating businesses for a chance to win a massive gift basket, or $200 Main Street Medina bucks! Collect a stamp for each purchase you make that evening. When you have 5 stamps, turn your passport back in at the Visitors Bureau to be entered into the drawing.

  • St. Patrick’s Day 3.1 Beer Run – Piqua
    Happy St Patrick’s Day!! We can’t think of any better way to celebrate than with the 3.1 Beer Run! Come celebrate with Mainstreet Piqua by running a 5K and drinking a beer at every mile. Don’t drink beer? No problem – we have a root beer option!

  • First Friday: Fire & Ice – Delaware
    Warm Yourself by the FIRE as you enjoy the art of ICE sculpting. Fire barrels and an ice sculptor will be in downtown Delaware for your enjoyment.
  • First Friday: Fire & Ice Festival – Marietta
    Back for its fourth year, the Fire & Ice Festival will kick off the new year in downtown Marietta with ice sculptures staged throughout and additional fun to enjoy!
  • First Friday: Art Walk – Medina
    Bundle up with Winter Sales at participating merchants, stroll the Street Tree Art Walk, and enjoy special “Blue Dot” Art Walk locations.
  • First Friday: Meet Our New Director – Painesville
    Please join the Downtown Painesville Organization Board to welcome the new Executive Director, Joy Severa, at The Gage House.
  • First Friday: Roaring 20s Murder Mystery – Troy
    Troy Main Street will be set up in the back room of Winans Chocolates + Coffees with a list of questions you will have to find the answers to in order to solve the murder mystery. Various downtown businesses will participate as suspects and you will have to stop in each business to ask them a question and then see if you can solve the mystery with the answers you receive. Anyone who guesses the correct Murderer will be entered into a drawing for a prize at the end of the night. Costumes are encouraged! This is a free event.
  • First Friday: Aloha! Tropical Winter Luau
    Grab your grass skirt and head downtown to shop local, enjoy a tropical drink, and have fun celebrating the new year!

    Join Downtown Painesville for a panel discussion to learn more about Downtown Historic Painesville. Come ready to guess some of the most unique discoveries from the application process for the National Register of Historic Places. The panel will include Tara Carlson, Preparer, Lynn White, City Planner, and Bill Smith, Historian.

  • Christmas Light Show – Cambridge
    Visit the annual Christmas Light Show in historic downtown Cambridge.
  • Dickens Victorian Village – Cambridge
    Take a trip back in time and experience old world England at historic downtown Cambridge, Ohio. It is charmingly transformed into a Dickens Victorian Village each holiday season.     Experience the magic of a train ride with Santa himself. During your hour long journey, Santa and his elves will make their way through the train to visit with each family. Celebrate with festive elves and holiday music while enjoying your hot chocolate and cookie. Every child will receive a bell from Santa’s sleigh.
  • Visit Santa’s House and Tour Downtown Marietta in a Carriage – Marietta
    Take a free carriage ride through historic downtown Marietta and stop by to see Santa to let him know what you want for Christmas this year. See events for times and dates.
  • Downtown Tiffin Holiday Cash Give-A-Way – Tiffin
    Shop at participating businesses Nov 15 – Dec 21 and enter to win $1000 cash. No limit to number of entries! Each participating business will also pick a winner from their entries to receive a $100 gift card to their business. Winners will be drawn Sunday, December 22 at noon at the Court House Square.
  • Downtown Tiffin Holiday Window Contest – Tiffin
    Help Downtown Tiffin celebrate the Holidays with a downtown tiffin window contest! Stop by the participating businesses and vote for your favorite. Voting begins November 30 on Small Business Saturday and ends December 5th. Winner announced at the Christmas tree Lighting on December 6th.
  • Santa House – Troy
    Come visit with Santa in downtown Troy! Santa’s House is located on Prouty Plaza in downtown Troy and Santa will be available for visits throughout the holiday season.
  • Vermilion Arts Guild Holiday Show – Vermilion
    The final show of the season puts the focus on winter and the holidays. Shop for holiday gift items among paintings, photography, jewelry, woodworking, ceramics and more all created by local Vermilion artists.
  • Wellington Community Christmas – Wellington

    Story Mobs are a little bit different than our normal Cash Mobs. Participants aren’t expected to shop, unless they want to! Instead, Story Mobbers will hear backstories about each participating business directly from the business owner. Mobbers will enjoy refreshments, live demos, sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes tours, and/or more thanks to each of our *surprise* participating locations!

  • Christmas Lights on the Square – Chardon
    Join Chardon Tomorrow as they light up the square for Christmas! Along with the colorful lights, they will have live music and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus! Cider and ginger snaps are served throughout the evening.

    Christmas lights and shopping at night…in small town style. Come to Vermilion this evening an evening of holiday fun and activities.

  • Home for the Holidays Weekend – Delaware
    Main Street Delaware brings you a holiday to remember! Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 pm.  Join other families and feel the sense of love and community as we light our magnificent Christmas Tree at the corner of William and Sandusky Streets. Delaware’s tree lighting is a magical experience. Other Friday night highlights include: – Horse-drawn carriage rides $1 per person, over the age of 5 – Life-sized snow globe – Frozen themed bounce house – Visits with Santa – Carolers and live musical performances – Magic and kids activities – Shopping and store specials

Pick up your Passport Guide in Governor’s Square (corner of Central and Broad) to learn all of the tasty stops! Get stamped at each stop to be entered to win FREE HOT CHOCOLATE FOR A YEAR, thanks to our friends at Triple Moon Coffee Company and Mockingbirds! The event is family friendly but there will be “Boozy” & Delish Hot Chocolates options or mixers available for purchase at some stops for our 21+ friends.
  • Mount Vernon Christmas Festival – Mount Vernon
    The festivities downtown kick off in downtown Mount Vernon with Lights & Carols at 7:00 P.M. Santa arrives in style with a ride from Knox Motor Group. He starts the festivities by lighting the tree on the Public Square. After this, local musical groups will lead a Christmas Music sing along.
  • Christmas on the Green – Piqua

    Help the less fortunate this holiday season and visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and the gang from the North Pole in historic downtown Cambridge! Pre-registration is required and admission is by donation, either monetary or a non-perishable food item listed on the event page. All items will be donated to the Grace Pantry to help stock their shelves.
  • Home for the Holidays Weekend – Delaware
    Main Street Delaware brings you a holiday to remember! Dash for Dasher Scavenger Hunt – Santa has lost Dasher! Explore downtown Delaware following Santa’s clues to find him and have fun along the way. Main Street Delaware will collect a voluntary monetary donation or a box of cereal for our local food pantries. Holiday Shopping Extravaganza! Shop downtown Delaware stores with holiday specials, deals or snacks! Participate by getting a stamp at each store you make a purchase, turn in your card for a chance to win Chocolate Walk tickets!
  • The Holiday Marietta Marketplace – Marietta

  • Downtown Holiday Open House – Portsmouth
    A follow up to Small Business Saturday, the Holiday Open House welcomes everyone to downtown Portsmouth to continue holiday shopping at local businesses. Downtown businesses will offer various discounts and sales, along with other holiday treats, for shoppers.   • Downtown Tiffin Christmas Walk – Tiffin
    Looking for a fun way to explore downtown Tiffin? The downtown Christmas Walk is a perfect way to see all the great downtown shops! For $20, your ticket allows you to visit participating location and collect a unique treat. There are typically 20-25 stops in the downtown area. Get a group of friends together and wear your walking shoes! Prior to the walk, $35 VIP ticket holders will enjoy a brunch at the Empire 138.
  • The Christmas Tree Ship – Vermilion
    No other community can boast a Christmas tradition like this one. Main Street Vermilion invites everyone, young and old, to bundle up and gather riverside at McGarvey’s Landing for the arrival of The Christmas Tree Ship!

  • Home for the Holidays Weekend – Delaware
    Main Street Delaware brings you a holiday to remember! Holiday Parade – The Post Office also be on hand to collect your letters to Santa along the parade route!
  • Mount Vernon Christmas Festival – Mount Vernon
    The theme of this year’s Christmas parade is “Christmas in the Movies” and will include prize categories as in previous years. The parade route will come up South Main Street, around the square, and continue up North Main Street ending at the Living Center. Many local restaurants will be open for refreshments before and after the parade.
  • Tour of Lofts – Portsmouth
    Main Street Portsmouth is bringing back a classic this holiday season with the Tour of Lofts. The tour is a casual Sunday stroll through various downtown Portsmouth loft apartments that highlight ingenuity and modern creative design that complements the lifestyle of living in a dearly loved, but old and storied, space in the heart of downtown.

  • Home for the Holidays: Fire & Ice! – Chardon
    Join Chardon Tomorrow on beautiful Chardon Square for one of the premier holiday events in Northeast Ohio!     Santa in his sleigh on the Courthouse Lawn will listen to all the children’s Christmas Morning wishes while Olaf and Elsa greet them at The Village Toy Shop. While strolling along your way, stop in at participating business’s Elf Stations for treats and goodies!

Attendees may visit as many or as few locations as they wish. All ticket holders will be entered in a raffle prize drawing. Prizes will also be awarded randomly throughout the evening for the “Ugliest Sweaters” worn by attendees. This is a great opportunity to explore downtown bars and restaurants, enjoy time with friends, and kick off the holiday season!
  • Mega Mob – Marietta

  • Holiday Loft Tours – Marietta
    This one-day-only, self-guided, exclusive event allows participants to tour upper-floor businesses and residences in Historic Downtown Marietta. If you’ve ever been curious about what lies above our first-floor storefronts, this is the perfect opportunity to sneak a peek!
  • Holly Jolly 5k/10k – Piqua
    Hit the ground running with the holiday tradition in downtown Piqua. These annual 5K & 10K runs make use of the beautiful Piqua PATH.

    This tour will take in areas not covered before and provide an insight into the burial customs and artistic carvings used in Piqua. The symbols used in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries such as the lamb, the rose and the urn will be reviewed and explained. The cemetery is a place of traditions and innovations, of massive memorials and small remembrances and examples of old world markers and new world adaptions. Tour is led by local historian Jim Oda.

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland Take a Hike Tour in Cleveland
    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.
  • South Town Cruise-In – Medina
    Join Main Street Medina for a weekly cruise-in in Medina’s South Town, Tuesday evenings, May 21-September 24th from 4-8pm at 233 Lafayette Rd (the former Hawkins Market parking lot, soon to be the new home of Medina County Habitat for Humanity). See some of the best classic, collectible, rat rod, hot rod, and muscle cars in Northeast Ohio, and enjoy classic tunes from the 1950-70’s with DJ Bruce. The South Town Cruise-In is free and open to the public.

  • Main Street Celebration & Downtown Summit – Tiffin

Ray Boylston, Senior Associate of RLS & Associates Inc., is to give the first local presentation on the proposed deviated fixed bus route for Tiffin, with time for community input. The event also includes the 2019 Downtown Tiffin Main Street Awards ceremony.

  • First Friday: Celebrate School Spirit – Delaware
    September’s First Friday celebration will feature the Ohio Wesleyan University Marching Bishops, as well as other on-stage performances by students from schools throughout the city and county! Delaware-area cheerleaders and mascots also are invited to help add to the fun. In addition, everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite school colors to the event, and local educators are invited to stop by a Teacher Appreciation Tent for special recognition and treats.

The Main Stage will host The Slang and the South Stage Entertainment is Community Band of Mount Vernon Ohio. Celebrate our first responders with COTC, and experience hands-on what it takes to save lives. Meet first responders, and enjoy a variety of demonstrations, safety information, and a special visit and photo with our SURPRISE special guest!   • Victory Heights & Clark Avenue Walking Tour – Piqua
    Victory Heights was a World War II housing complex and Clark Avenue holds many additional homes from that era. From brick bungalows built into the hill to the addition of asbestos and cement shingling (Glatex), the war made a huge impact on Clark Avenue housing. At the bottom of the hill, war industries such as the Wood Shovel & Tool Company and the Meteor Motor Car Company provided full employment to Clark Avenue residents who had just recently been suffering through the Great Depression.

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland Take a Hike Tour in Cleveland
    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.

  • Heritage Ohio Preservation Month Photo Contest

    Preservation Month is nearly here and 2019 marks the 10th year of our Preservation Month Photo Contest. This year’s theme is Urban Renewal, but with a twist. While Urban Renewal may have once consisted of demoing whole blocks of city buildings, without any care or thought about the people in the buildings, let alone the character of the buildings, Urban Renewal today means the revitalization of cities, its people, and its heritage.

    So, here’s your contest assignment: take a picture that captures your community’s best Urban Renewal efforts, whether an event image in a revitalized business district, a historic building once slated for demo that’s been saved and rehabbed, or even the underutilized block of buildings that will, once restored, again contribute to the renewal of the neighborhood. Entries are due by May 10th.

    The 21st Annual Gazebo Garden Walk is Wellington’s way to officially welcome spring!  There will be over 60 vendors outside and inside of the Town Hall, and next door in the Fire Station with handmade crafts, art, photography, jewelry, clothing, home decor, quilts, purses, garden art, flowers, plants, edible treats, kettle korn, upcycled items, antiques, and more. Lunch will be served in the Town Hall between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

    Kent’s first Craft Beer Festival in downtown Kent. The fest will run from 1pm to 7pm for VIP ticket holders and from 2pm to 7pm for General Admission ticket holders. During the festival, attendees will get to sample craft beers from some of Northeast Ohio’s Best Breweries.   • Take a Hike – Cleveland

    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.

  • Dickens Victorian Village – Cambridge

    Take a trip back in time and experience old world England as historic downtown Cambridge, Ohio, is charmingly transformed into a Dickens Victorian Village each holiday season. From November through mid January each year, visitors are invited to stroll amidst over 92 scenes of 166 lifelike figures representing classic scenes from Victorian society. While in Cambridge, experience the spectacular Guernsey County Courthouse Light Show.

  • North Pole Express – Lebanon

    The LM&M Railroad will have our station area decorated with lights for the Christmas season. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available on the platform while you wait for your train and are included with your ticket. Each passenger will receive one cookie that is peanut free, egg free, tree nut free, and dairy free. Every passenger will receive a FREE souvenir hot chocolate mug. Each child will receive a special “North Pole Express” souvenir train ticket.
    During the hour long journey Santa and his elves will make their way through the train to visit with each family. Every child will receive a bell from Santa’s sleigh. We encourage you to bring your own camera, pictures with Santa are allowed and encouraged. Balloon artists will also be on-board the train.

  • Holiday Shopping Extravaganza – Delaware

    Your favorite downtown stores are open and have lots of holiday specials for you! Visit them during their regular business hours on Saturday, December 1 and pick up an exclusive holiday shoppers card. Every purchase you make gets you closer to winning a pair of free Chocolate Walk tickets for our popular, sell-out event in February! The more places you shop, the more entries you get. Pick up a card at any participating location and be sure you turn in your card to COhatch by 6pm on Saturday to be entered to win.

  • Light Up Lakewood – Lakewood

    Usher in the holiday season with this time-honored Lakewood tradition now in its 12th year. The spirit of the season will come to life with festive cheer. Attendees are invited to stroll Lakewood’s downtown district and visit local stores and restaurants while taking in the sights and sounds of one of Northeast Ohio’s largest holiday celebrations.

    Highlights include the Holiday Market inside the historic Lakewood Masonic Temple, the ever-popular Holiday Parade at 5 pm, live entertainment provided by bands and choirs, the Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 pm. at the Main Stage at City Center Park and a can’t-miss fireworks show at 7 p.m. over the rooftops of Downtown Lakewood.

  • The Christmas Tree Ship – Vermilion

    No other community has a Christmas tradition quite like this one. Main Street Vermilion invites everyone, young and old, to bundle up and gather riverside at McGarvey’s Landing for the arrival of our Christmas Tree Ship, an icebreaker stocked with Christmas trees and holiday cheer. It’s a heartwarming sight to see the breaker make its way down the river. There’s music from Vermilion’s own Sid Jordan and the Vermilion Community Band, cookies, donuts and hot chocolate to keep you warm and awards for the winners of the Christmas coloring contest. Quaker Steak and Lube will host lunch with Santa following the event.

    Join us for the 2018 Christmas Parade Auction! Support an annual holiday tradition in downtown Mount Vernon while gaining publicity for your business!

    Starting a new tradition: A gift card tree will be on display, with your $20 donation, you will have the chance at pulling a gift card valued between $5-$100. All proceeds will be donated to the 2018 Christmas Walk and Main Street Mount Vernon.

  • First Friday: Ladies Night – Mount Vernon

    Main Street Mount Vernon is excited to again host the upcoming Ladies’ Night in downtown Mount Vernon. This adult-only event will feature open-till-8:00 pm downtown businesses, restaurants, galleries, and more.

    Did you know one of the industries Chardon was built on was macaroni? Yes, Macaroni! The Chardon Macaroni Factory was a major employer in the early days of Chardon–and we want to celebrate it! On Friday, November 16th from 7 – 9:30PM, Downtown Wooster transforms into a winter wonderland.     Through an upcoming quarterly public forum, the Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Portsmouth are working in part with Community Action to bring the community together, build momentum on progress, and focus attention on just how much goes on that often goes unnoticed.

    The event is being called Portsmouth Today, and will be held every three months in the Scioto County Welcome Center. It will highlight positivity by focusing on a series of speakers who will update guests on their public events and projects, answer questions anyone may have, and hear input from those in attendance. Bring your calendars ready to be filled out!

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland

    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.

  • Main Street Makeovers – Marietta

    We have partnered with Marietta Main Street to invite local business owners and employees in for a free makeover! With your permission, we would like to take before and after photos (after photo in your place of business) and share them to our social media. It would be a great way to cross-promote local businesses and our support for one another.

  • Duck Drop Coloring Contest – Piqua

    The 2018 Duck Drop Coloring Contest is now open! PRIZES: (1st) $50 Cinemark Gift Card; (2nd) Stuffed Ducks for the kids, and in the 13+ division a Duck Adoption for this year’s race; (3rd) Farmers Market Dollars. Entries due to the Mainstreet office by 7/26. Winners announced 8/2.

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland

    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.

  • The Dog Days of Summer – Wellington

    A fun event for dogs and the people who love them. Friendly dogs on a non-retractable leash are welcome!
    Play games like Musical Sit [musical chairs with your dog] or a “wet t-shirt” contest. Visit with many local shelters and non profit groups. You may find a “fur-ever” family member and start the adoption process. Enter a contest- like a dog – owner look alike, or best trick etc.
    Cool off in a paddle pool/sprinkler area and plenty of water stations.

    Stroll through downtown Wellington’s park and see dozens of Antique [pre-1933] Cars, bicycles, motorcycles and more.

    First Fridays are family-friendly events celebrated on the first Friday of each month, June through September. MSMV invites you to explore historic downtown Mount Vernon through live entertainment, classic car cruise-in during June, July, and August, and a variety of local food and shopping, kids’ entertainment, a beer garden, and more.

  • Main Street Sidewalk & Street Sale – Portsmouth

    Join Main Street Portsmouth downtown on July 7, between noon and 5 p.m., as we close Second Street to welcome outside vendors and bring the brick and mortar businesses to the sidewalks, for a day of the sidewalk sales that used to fill our streets. We will also have an inflatable for kids to enjoy while parents shop, as well as music on location.

    Award winning Nikki D and the Sisters of Thunder will take the stage on July 13 at 7:30 pm for the downtown, Fridays on Prouty concert series. They have a hard-driving rock-influenced gospel-based sound that will drive us home without asking any questions. A supreme highlight of the show is the surprising abandon of the great Nikki D’s steel guitar. The sisters have promised us “You Make Me Want to Shout”, “Change Gonna Come” and “Still the One”, but do not come with any preconceived ideas for what these Sisters of Thunder will accomplish on stage. Just know that you will be lifted to their level, on this summer night, in Troy, Ohio.

  • Fountain Park Summer Music Series – Van Wert

    Head to Fountain Park to hear 60s rock band, The Cyrkle. The Cyrkle was a short-lived American rock and roll band active in the mid-1960s. The group charted two Top 40 hits, “Red Rubber Ball,” and “Turn-Down Day”. In 1966, The Cyrkle was opening for the Beatles on their last U.S. tour. They are now back together and will help you re-live those happy days.

  • Knowing Your Home: Hands-On Window Repair Workshop – Lakewood

    Join LakewoodAlive and Lakewood Hardware for our hands-on window repair workshop. Repairing a window is not only energy efficient and environmentally friendly, but it also helps to keep the historic look and feel of your wonderfully old home. Rotted frames, deteriorated sashes and leaky frames can generally be fixed in window restoration — even a rotting window isn’t necessarily too far gone for restoration. Glenn Palmer will be leading the evening and working with class participants to check window sashes, identify parts of the window, learn simple window repairs such as sash repair, glazing, sash cord repair etc.
    Knowing Your Home is an educational series focused on best sustainability and home maintenance practices empowering homeowners to tackle necessary repairs and improvements.

Erin Higgins’ incredible vocal range and deep relationship to the lyrics carries out the story of their music as Jeff Madewell’s masterful acoustic guitar completes the interpretation. Erin says: “It’s really a blend of all different genres, He comes from more of a rock and metal background, and I tend to go more towards country and folk. We both like the blues, so there aren’t many styles you won’t hear us play…” Like Johnny and June, these two were just meant to make music together.

    The Wassenberg Art Park will be complete in time for this year’s Town Creek Live!   • Chalk it Up! – Vermilion

    Starting at noon, watch as the roads and walks along Main Street begin filling up with bright chalk drawings created by local artistic talent. This year, look for storybook characters and all sorts of “nods” to reading! Enjoy some family and kid-friendly interactive opportunities, too as you watch the streets transform.
    At 3PM, you’re invited to Victory Park for a free, community-wide picnic to celebrate 100 years of Ritter Public Library. Enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers freshly prepared by the Lions Club and cupcakes from Vermilion’s Small Town Sweets. A free concert in the park begins at 6PM starring Emily Keener, local talent and American Idol contestant.
    Stroll this “middle-of-the-road” gallery of expression as you come downtown to shop and dine for the evening.

    This is the Fifth Farm to Table for the Downtown Painesville Organization. Local Chefs creating dishes from local produce and protein.   • The Race That Shall Not Be Named – Kent

    This noncompetitive* 5 ¾ K Fun Run (or walk) will take participants on a magical journey through the Kent State campus at dusk on Friday, July 27 to kick off Wizardly World of Kent 2018. The run will begin at 7:30pm under the arch on the Lester Lefton Esplanade, taking runners on a spellbinding loop though some of Kent State’s most magnificent places. Participants are highly encouraged to dress in magically themed costumes, and several photo opportunities will be located along the course for selfies and group pictures.

  • Knowing Your Home: Generators 101 Workshop – Lakewood

    Join LakewoodAlive and Cleveland Lumber Company for a workshop dedicated to learning all about generators.
    Our workshop will focus on educating folks on the very most basics of generators:
    – what are they?
    – Different styles
    – What situations do they work best?
    – How much can they energize?
    – We will then move on to the topic of how they work and learn more about their everyday maintenance.
    – Lastly, we will be focusing on the safety aspect of owning and using a generators during emergencies.
    Our goal is help folks decide if a generator is right for them and if it is, what type would work best for their situation.
