What’s Happening on Main Street – February 2020

February 1

  • Chocolate Crawl for a Cause – Medina
    Chill Ice Cream has a new way to Indulge your sweet tooth – Hand made chocolates! What better way to celebrate than to have YOU sample these gourmet chocolates while supporting a local charity! Your $10 ticket will benefit Faith in Action, a local non profit that provides transportation for home bound seniors to get to their doctor appointments.
  • Ice-A-Fair – Vermilion
    The 12th Annual Main Street Vermilion Ice-A-Fair is almost here! Join us in downtown Vermilion on Saturday, February 1, 2020 for a day of fun, ice sculptures and more. Enjoy more than 60 sculptures in downtown Vermilion, as well as the Ritter Public Library’s 2020 Chocolate Festival and Fire & Ice, a blazing display flames set to music and accompanied by fire dancers. You’ll be mesmerized as you watch the melting ice put our the fire…or does the fire topple the icy tower? It’s free and magical! Join us for the Meltdown Party afterwards at the Vermilion Boat Club, short stroll from the center of town.
  • Ice-A-Fair Meltdown Party – Vermilion
    You’re invited to “Meltdown” following Ice A Fair. Just a short walk from the center of town and the site of Fire & Ice, a spectacular display that caps the day, the party starts at 7PM. For $30 a person, enjoy music, heavy hors d’oeurves and a cash bar. There will be chances to win with more raffles including everyone’s favorite, COLD HARD CASH:$1000 frozen in a block of ice! Relax around the fireplace or enjoy the view of the river and Lagoons.

  • First Friday: Love is in the Air – Delaware
    Visit downtown shops and restaurants for a date night, time with friends, or the whole family to celebrate LOVE! Main Street is throwing a wedding! A previously selected winning couple will get married by Mayor Riggle inside Gather. The community is invited to attend and celebrate true love! Snuggle up with your love for a romantic carriage ride through the downtown. Rides are $15 per couple.
  • First Friday: Love is in the Air – Marietta
    With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we’ll be celebrating the season of love downtown! Shops will feature love-ly gifts, display themed window decorations, and downtown shoppers will have the chance to show off your big heart for #MyMarietta.
  • First Friday: Sweet Stroll – Medina
    1st Friday in February will include a Sweets Stroll of delicious treats, a Musical Flash Mob at the Gazebo, interactive Live Art at the Visitors’ Bureau, and Sweet Deals at the shops … open late!

    Do you 💜 Middletown? Then be sure to join us for February First Friday: I 💜 Middletown, presented by Middletown City Schools! We will celebrate the incredible talent of our student community through their art, music and education! Come join the #middierising revolution and support the future of Middletown!

    Love chocolate? Then sign-up fast for the February First Friday Chocolate Walk in beautiful, historic Downtown Tipp City! Come explore our wonderful downtown businesses while receiving unique and delicious treats along the way! Come out with your friends and loved ones for this special event with limited space. Tickets can be purchased via the link below or at the Tipp City Public Library or Grounds for Pleasure Coffee House.
  • First Friday: Live Models – Troy
    February’s First Friday will feature Live Models in the windows of our downtown stores and businesses. Businesses will be open late so that you can shop, dine, and explore!
  • Chocolate Walk – Van Wert
    Take a sweet stroll through downtown Van Wert! Show the event bag at each Chocolate Stop on the map to sample or collect nearly 20 chocolate treats. Grab friends or invite someone special and enjoy this excursion through downtown Van Wert. A limited number of tickets are available.
  • Soups vs. Soups! – Van Wert
    After Main Street Van Wert’s Chocolate Walk! Do you have what it takes to make a great soup to warm up the cold and hungry Choco-walkers? We want you to enter the first annual Soup Competition! $10 entry fee. Winner of the best soup, gets to boast a cool trophy for the year, receives half of the entry fees and takes home a large, hand-thrown bowl from potter Steve Smith! The more people who enter, the bigger the pot! We will be featuring David Holbrook & Denny Altaffer as our musician that night. Eat soup and listen to Jimmy belt out all the favorites!
  • First Friday: Downtown Date Night & Candyland Scavenger Hunt – Wadsworth
    Head downtown for a fun night of shopping, dining, and activities for all ages! Valentine’s Day is around the corner, so tonight is the perfect chance to find something special for the loved ones in your life! There will also be a fun Candyland-themed scavenger hunt!

  • Annual Chocolate Walk – Delaware
    The Main Street Delaware Chocolate Walk is a tasty experience you won’t want to miss! With your $20 ticket, you will visit businesses and receive a treat at each one. Each business thoughtfully prepares a chocolate treat for you to experience their business in a unique, yummy way.
  • Main Street Kent Chocolate Walk – Kent
    Ticket holders can pick up Chocolate Walk maps, “passes,” and bags to collect their chocolate treats. Guests can stop at participating businesses to gather their chocolate surprises while shopping, having lunch, coffee, and/or drinks along the way. Ticket holders will be entered in a drawing for the grand prize: an overnight stay at the Kent State Hotel & Conference Center and dinner for two!
  • Black Bag Bingo – Lebanon
    Looking for a Fun Night Out with your girlfriends? Play for a chance to win designer handbags! Coach, Kate Spade, Cole Haan, Michael Kors and more will be up for grabs when Black Bag Bingo returns.
  • Ellen Vetter Chocolate Walk – Portsmouth
    Join Main Street Portsmouth for the Annual Ellen Vetter Chocolate Walk to collect sweet treats and check out our many wonderful shops and restaurants.
  • Workshop for Entrepreneurs – Van Wert
    Everyone who dreams of starting a business is encouraged to attend this free event. This free Fair offers a wide variety of assistance, counseling and information to promising entrepreneurs and emerging new businesses. There will be speakers on topics including: Starting Right: What’s First, Financing and Incentives, and an Ask the Experts session where area professionals will do a Q&A with the audience. A special element to the fair is the announcement of the Business Plan Challenge where individuals looking to begin a business in Van Wert County can create, submit, and present a business plan to a panel of judges for the chance to win business development funds.

    Every year, Vermilion in Bloom hosts three lively ladies nights to get us through winter and into the planting season. Wine, food and lively conversation fill the evening.   • Girl Scout Cookie Walk & Wine Pairing – Middletown
    Who doesn’t LOVE Girl Scout Cookies?! Come join us in historic downtown Middletown for a family-friendly Cookie Walk! After checking in at the beautiful Windamere, you will walk to different shops, eateries and establishments to get 8 different Girl Scout cookies. For our 21 and older friends, each “Cookie Stop” will have a specially selected wine pairing available for purchase (not included in ticket price, sold separately at each location). Girl Scout cookie in one hand……paired wine in another…….does it get any better?!
  • Girls Night Out – Millersburg

  • 2nd Annual Winter Writing Festival – Ravenna
    The 2nd Annual Winter Writing Festival celebrates the written word in downtown Ravenna. New this year is the Speaker Series featuring Kent native Jason Prufer author of “Small Town, Big Music” and Award-winning Author Angela Johnson! Writing workshops are scheduled at locations all around town, The WICK Poetry Center from KSU will again be leading a poetry slam, a Story Walk is being planned and more! Don’t forget to visit our downtown merchants while you are enjoying the day as we are also welcoming back our book Pop-Up Shop featuring The Learned Owl Bookshop. Register for your workshops as space is limited and the first 200+ registrants will receive a swag bag for attending!
  • Taste of Troy Trivia Night – Troy
    Taste of Troy Trivia Night is one of Troy Main Street’s favorite events to host. It is a night of food, fun, and community! Tickets are $25 per person (includes 1 drink ticket) or $175 per table. Additional beer/wine tickets are $5 each. (Credit card payments are subject to a service fee). All event and drink tickets must be purchased in advance! In between each round of trivia, you will get to sample a food item from a local Troy restaurant. Prizes from local businesses will be awarded to teams who win a round of Trivia.

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland Take a Hike Tour in Cleveland
    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.
  • South Town Cruise-In – Medina
    Join Main Street Medina for a weekly cruise-in in Medina’s South Town, Tuesday evenings, May 21-September 24th from 4-8pm at 233 Lafayette Rd (the former Hawkins Market parking lot, soon to be the new home of Medina County Habitat for Humanity). See some of the best classic, collectible, rat rod, hot rod, and muscle cars in Northeast Ohio, and enjoy classic tunes from the 1950-70’s with DJ Bruce. The South Town Cruise-In is free and open to the public.
  • Painesville Friday Night Car Cruise – Painesville
    Painesville’s famous Car Cruise is every Friday on the Square in Downtown Painesville! Stroll through vintage, muscle and unique vehicles lining beautiful Veteran’s Park while enjoying music, ‘hot dogs on the hill’ and East Coast Custard! Every Friday night, all summer long.
  • Yoga on East Green – Tiffin
    Stretch out and relax with Yoga Chuck each Saturday morning from 9 – 10 AM on downtown Tiffin’s East Green.

  • Main Street Celebration & Downtown Summit – Tiffin
    Join with community and business leaders in commemorating a year of success for Downtown Tiffin. The night will include a chance for attendees to network, and live music is to be provided by Dave & Glenn and the Xpando Band. Ray Boylston, Senior Associate of RLS & Associates Inc., is to give the first local presentation on the proposed deviated fixed bus route for Tiffin, with time for community input. The event also includes the 2019 Downtown Tiffin Main Street Awards ceremony.

September 6

  • First Friday: Celebrate School Spirit – Delaware
    September’s First Friday celebration will feature the Ohio Wesleyan University Marching Bishops, as well as other on-stage performances by students from schools throughout the city and county! Delaware-area cheerleaders and mascots also are invited to help add to the fun. In addition, everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite school colors to the event, and local educators are invited to stop by a Teacher Appreciation Tent for special recognition and treats.
  • First Friday: Art Walk – Kent
    Explore special exhibits, enjoy demonstrations, snacks, hands-on activities and more in downtown Kent.
  • Lebanon Cemetery Tour – Lebanon
    A Historical walking tour of the Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon. By lantern light, visit the graves of notable and historic Lebanon citizens & meet the “spirit” of the departed through historic character reenactments.
  • First Friday: Sternwheel Festival – Marietta
    September’s First Friday is the first day of the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival! Enjoy extended shopping hours, special promotions and activities throughout all of downtown.
  • First Friday: Friday Night Lights – Medina
    Grab your friends and head to historic Medina the first Friday of each month for an evening of socializing, dining, shopping, dancing, laughing, and merriment.
  • First Friday: Fall in Love with Art – Middletown
    Celebrate all of the different forms of art in our community- visual, performing and culinary. Plenty of artists from amateur to hobbyists to students to professional will be sharing their “Love Stories of Art” throughout Downtown. Be sure to pick up your Event Passport outside the PAC to help guide your way around town. Check out the Downtown Chili Cook Off and stay for the evening showing of Dumbo!
  • First Friday: First Responder Friday – Mount Vernon
    We’re taking some time in September to thank those that protect and help us. First Responder Friday is a theme that Main Street Mount Vernon is excited to share with you and to thank our friends at the Mount Vernon Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Mount Vernon Fire Department, and Knox County, Ohio 911. The Main Stage will host The Slang and the South Stage Entertainment is Community Band of Mount Vernon Ohio. Celebrate our first responders with COTC, and experience hands-on what it takes to save lives. Meet first responders, and enjoy a variety of demonstrations, safety information, and a special visit and photo with our SURPRISE special guest! Kids and historic buildings lead to a fun educational experience; join KCLF as they share the history of downtown buildings in a fun way! Stop by the First Friday Cruise-In to see classic hot rods.
  • First Friday: Back to School – Painesville
    They’re finally going back to school, and Downtown Painesville is here to help you get them ready. Shop at the numerous downtown merchants and submit your entry in the photo contest.
  • First Friday: Foodie Friday – Tipp City
    Join Downtown Tipp City for our September Foodie Friday. Get a sampling of hors d’oeuvres, dinners, and desserts from some of our wonderful local eateries. Take a jaunt around our scenic and historic downtown, or stop at one of our bistro tables along the sidewalk and enjoy the tasty treats available at over 10 locations! This is sure to be a fun night out!
  • First Friday: Sports Night – Wadsworth
    Throw on your favorite sports team apparel and come downtown for some sports-themed fun! Lolly the Trolley will be on-site thanks to sponsor Premier Family Dental to shuttle downtown visitors to and from Art Wright Stadium so all can enjoy both the football game and First Friday on the same night!

  • Kent International Festival – Kent
    Enjoy live multi-cultural performances at the Dan Smith Community Park and a Passport Excursion at many downtown businesses! Participating businesses will offer activities and food/beverage samples from the countries they choose to represent during the event. Passports will be available for purchase for $5 each at “Customs” in the Dan Smith Community Park. Passport Excursion participants will receive a stamp for each destination visited. The first one hundred passport holders to return to “Customs” with their completed passports will receive a prize.
  • Run the World 5K – Kent
    Sign up for the 5th year of this 5K and raise scholarship funds for Kent State students to use on an education abroad experience of a lifetime! 
  • Pedal to Popped! – Kent & Ravenna
    Free social bike ride starting at Popped! and ending at our neighboring Popped! Everyone is welcome to ride with us – participants get water, a popcorn snack, an apple, and bike support from Kent Cycle.
  • Ohio River Sternwheel Festival – Marietta
    All events are FREE, and the atmosphere is festive and friendly. Marietta invites you to come early and stay late. Enjoy the continuous weekend entertainment from national and international recording artists, food and refreshments from the various vendors and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the 44th Annual Ohio River Sternwheel Festival!
  • Ladies Sip & Swap: The Sparkle Party – Middletown
    This party is a chance for (ladies 21 and over) to grab their friends, SPARKLE UP (prize for the crew with the most sparkle), and come out for a good time! Ladies can bring up to 3 accessory items with them (gently used but still fabulous). This could be jewelry, scarfs, belts, handbags, sunglasses, etc. You will leave with the same number of “new to you” items. While you wait for your name to be called, to go up and chose an accessories, there will be plenty of fun to get into! Hit the dance floor and enjoy sounds from the band. Golf carts will be available to cruise out to one of our “Sunset Selfie” areas and snap pictures of you and your Sparkle Crew.

  • Port Middletown Arts Festival – Middletown
    Art comes to life in variety of ways. At this year’s festival, you’re in for a surprise. We’re bringing together the most unique and creative artists across Cincinnati and Dayton to show you art like you’ve never seen it before.
  • Hot Diggity Dog Day – Vermilion
    Enjoy quality time with your dog during Main Street event second annual Hot Diggity Dog Day. Held at the foot of Main Street in Vermilion you’ll find vendors, dog games and fun, prizes, kid activities, giveaways, off leash beach time and more including the K9 Costume Contest. Each registrant also receives a Wag Bag, filled with dog swag Afterward, stay in town to shop our Downtown Dog merchants featuring dog-related products and join in the Weenie Walk. Our restaurants are creating hot dog and sausage menu items and brews, drinks, desserts and more named for dogs! Many have pet friendly patios or offer carry out to enjoy in our downtown parks.
  • Wooster Arts & Music Fest – Wooster
    This year’s festival will feature amazing headliner bands, a fine art and craft show, children’s activities, local wine and beer, and gourmet food trucks. The fine art and craft show features 33 spectacular artists with works for sale and art demonstrations all day. Children’s activities will include balloons, the return of the Kids’ Creation Station, and chalk art.

  • Area 51 Fun Run – Medina
    Let’s have some Area 51 Fun and raise funds for Spokes Cafe! Spokes Cafe provides meaningful employment to adults with disabilities in Medina County and is a true asset to our community! Their coffee shop sits at the Champion creek trail head, which is the path we will run! Strollers and one dog per runner are permitted. Come dressed as your favorite alien, military security force or just wear your tin foil hat so we can’t read your mind!
  • Dog Day Downtown – Middletown
    Downtown Middletown is going to the dogs, again! Join us in downtown Middletown for the 5th Annual DOG DAY DOWNTOWN! This evening is all about you and your best friend! Bring your BFF’s (Best Furry Friends) to downtown Middletown to enjoy loads of free treats (trick or treat style for your pooch!), free vaccinations, $20 Microchipping, contests, raffles, explore multiple animal rescues, fun shopping and more!

September 21

  • Victory Heights & Clark Avenue Walking Tour – Piqua
    Victory Heights was a World War II housing complex and Clark Avenue holds many additional homes from that era. From brick bungalows built into the hill to the addition of asbestos and cement shingling (Glatex), the war made a huge impact on Clark Avenue housing. At the bottom of the hill, war industries such as the Wood Shovel & Tool Company and the Meteor Motor Car Company provided full employment to Clark Avenue residents who had just recently been suffering through the Great Depression.

September 22

  • Supper on the Square – Troy
    Dine around the fountain and enjoy a live musical performance by The Barnhart Band. We’ll kick off the evening with appetizers and live art demonstrations, followed with dinner prepared by Basil’s on Market, and desserts sourced from your favorite local spots. It will be a chance for fellowship, entertainment, and connecting with your neighbors.

  • Portsmouth Today – Portsmouth
    Through an upcoming quarterly public forum, the Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Portsmouth are working in part with Community Action to bring the community together, build momentum on progress, and focus attention on just how much goes on that often goes unnoticed. It will highlight positivity by focusing on a series of speakers who will update guests on their public events and projects, answer questions anyone may have, and hear input from those in attendance.

  • Haunted Spirits Pub Crawl – Mount Vernon
    Join Main Street Mount Vernon and Knox County Landmarks Foundation for a Haunted Spirits Pub Crawl! Have you heard voices in buildings when no one was around? Maybe it wasn’t just in your head. Listen to haunted stories about well-known locations in Mount Vernon as your group is guided from bar to bar. Want to really get in the “haunted spirit”? Come dressed in costume and be entered into a Costume Contest! Participants can vote on their favorite costumes throughout the night with the winner being announced when all groups reunite at SBC!
  • Downtown Troy Chocolate Walk – Troy
    Explore historic downtown Troy and sample delicious chocolates.
  • After Game Rally in the Alley – Van Wert
    Bring your crew out to celebrate football, friends, and friday nights. Adult beverages will be available for you to buy and enjoy after the football game!

  • Fall Festival – Cambridge
    Celebrate fall in historic downtown Cambridge.
  • Kent Creativity Festival – Kent
    Kent’s annual outdoor hands-on arts festival, this event will feature a wide variety of interactive creative activities presented by local and regional artists and art educators. Attendees can enjoy hands-on activities in jewelry-making, weaving, dance, silk screen, architecture, creative writing, improvisational theatre, poetry, sewing and music therapy. This multi-generational event is free and open to everyone. 
  • Country Applefest – Lebanon
    Head to Lebanon for a weekend of apples, crafts, and music.
  • Applefest 5K/10K/15K – Lebanon
    Become a racing champion before you head off to Applefest!
  • Harvest Moon Festival – Van Wert
    There will be everything you need for a fun day with your family! Food trucks, vendors, and even some fun activities for the kids! There will also be outhouse races and axe throwing. Don’t forget that Cadillac Ranch and Kaitlyn Schmit and the Move will also be playing!
  • Vermilion Tour of Homes – Vermilion
    Main Street Vermilion hosts another delightful Tour of homes. This year is extra special with an easily walkable tour of four beautiful homes in Historic Harbourtown as well as looks inside the Captain Gilchrist Guesthouse, Vermilion Opera House, Vermilion Lighthouse and Moes Marine Historic Boatyard. The atmosphere of this unique neighborhood with historic and lake captain homes is just steps from the Vermilion River, Main Street Beach and Lake Erie.

  • Farm to Table Dinner & Pie Auction – Portsmouth
    This year’s Main Street Portsmouth Farm to Table Dinner and Pie Auction consists of homemade chicken noodle soup, salad, veggies, and a pie. The meal is prepared and served by Portsmouth farmers market vendors. There will also have a live pie auction, where guests can bid on pies made by our farmers market vendors and donated by members of the community. There will also be live music and an open beer bar.

    Rescheduled concert from June 1st. Head to the Frost-Kalnow Amphitheater for a free concert with The Right Now! The Right Now’s pop-meets-soul sound is more than a vehicle for Stefanie Berecz’s captivating voice.   • Sculptures on the Square – Troy
    Sculptures on the Square features 22 life-sized sculptures created by internationally renowned artist, Seward Johnson. There is also one sculpture created by local artist, Shannon Timura, that will be on display. Troy Main Street also invites visitors to be “Be Part of the Art” with art-related activities and experiences throughout the exhibition period. June 14th will serve as the kick-off gala with onsite artists and a musical performance led by 50s and 60s variety group, The Buzz Ford Show featuring the American Kings.

    Hear the classic sounds of Mark Randisi & The Motor City Horns in downtown Tiffin at the Frost-Kalnow Amphitheater. The Motor City Horns feature some of Detroit’s most versatile musicians. Individually, MCH members have worked with a variety of artists, bands, and orchestras, including Justin Timberlake, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Yo-Yo Ma. As a group, they have joined forces with Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band (2006–2007 “Face The Promise” Tour and 2011-2013 North American Tour, 2014-15 Ride Out Tour), Clarence Clemons and The Temple of Soul, Noel Gallagher, and Robert Randolph and The Family Band.

  • Revitalization Series Workshop: Design – Van Wert
    Join Heritage Ohio in Van Wert as we explore Design in Downtown. We have several speakers lined up to talk with you about local projects as well as hands-on opportunities to do some placemaking in Downtown Van Wert. We will have sessions on painting colorful crosswalks, opportunities to discover how temporary signage can increase foot traffic in your downtown as well as a chance to spruce up an existing pedestrian alleyway. Please come prepared by wearing comfortable shoes and clothes that you do not mind getting splashed with a little paint. Lunch will be on your own in downtown so you will have plenty of time to explore what Main Street Van Wert has to offer. We look forward to seeing you downtown!

  • Downtown Mini Golf – Marietta
    Downtown businesses have created their very own custom putting greens for community members to putt their way around downtown. People of all ages can enjoy the putting greens by purchasing a $5 wrist band from the Main Street tent at the Armory from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Wrist bands are free for kids 12 and under accompanied by an adult. (Tickets are only sold day of at the Armory). All golfers will receive a score card to be used as they go around to each hole and putt, shop, eat, and have fun!
  • South Town Cleanup – Medina
    Main Street Medina, in partnership with the City of Medina, will host our first cleanup day in the South Town District, roughly bordered by Smith, Broadway, Lafayette, and Huntington. Snacks, trash bags, gloves and vests will be provided. Please bring rakes, brooms, and shovels, and a personal reusable water bottle.
  • Art on Main – Ravenna
    Visit downtown Ravenna for amazing art, as well as area food trucks and wine.

  • Pizza Palooza – Tiffin Pizza
    Bring the whole family to enjoy a taste of Tiffin and Seneca County! Attendees can purchase $1 tickets that can be redeemed for a slice of pizza from any vendor, snacks, soda, or water. Half of each ticket sold will go toward downtown revitalization. During the event, The Porter & Sayles Band will be playing live at the Frost-Kalnow Amphitheater.

  • Chardon Groundhog Day Celebration – Chardon

    Join Chardon Tomorrow for a day of fun & furry festivities on Chardon Square! The day will kick off with a Pancake Breakfast with Geauga Faith Rescue Mission at 9 AM. Followed by a free Chardon Polka Band concert! Participating restaurants and retail shops will have groundhog related events throughout the day.

  • Ice-A-Fair – Vermilion

    The 11th Annual Main Street Vermilion Ice-A-Fair is a day-long winter event for the entire family filled with glistening sculptures, ice carving demos and more! Easily walkable or tour by Lolly the Trolley for $2 a rider or $5 for a family. You’ll find more than 30 shops, restaurants and pubs open to welcome visitors. You’re certain to bump into Jolly the Snowman and Pete the Penguin on the street as you enjoy your day in downtown Vermilion.

  • Ice-A-Fair Meltdown Party – Vermilion

    Just a short walk from the center of town and the site of Fire & Ice, a spectacular display that caps the day, the party starts at 7PM. For $25 a person, enjoy music, hors doeurves and a cash bar. Relax around the fireplace and a great view of the river and Lagoons.

  • Main Street Van Wert Chocolate Walk – Van Wert

    The evening of the event, “chocolate walkers” will begin at the MSVW office to pick up a special Chocolate Bag sponsored by Stephanie Dawn, a chocolate voucher from DeBrand Fine Chocolates, and a map of the downtown stops. Then relax and savor the evening while strolling at one’s leisure through the participating businesses downtown. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride up and down Main Street.

  • Main Street Delaware Chocolate Walk – Delaware

    The Main Street Delaware Chocolate Walk is a tasty experience you won’t want to miss. With your $20 ticket you will visit downtown businesses and receive a treat at each one. Each business thoughtfully prepares a chocolate treat for you to experience their business in a unique, yummy way.

  • Main Street Kent Chocolate Walk – Kent

    A wonderland of chocolate will take place in downtown Kent. Ticket holders will “check in” between 12PM and 4PM at the Destination Kent Visitor Centre (located at 201 E. Erie St.) to pick up their Chocolate Walk maps, “passes,” and bags to collect their chocolate treats. Then, at their leisure, guests can stop at over twenty participating businesses to gather a chocolate surprise while shopping, having lunch, coffee, and/or drinks along the way.

  • Ellen Vetter Chocolate Walk – Portsmouth

    Join Main Street Portsmouth for the Annual Ellen Vetter Chocolate Walk to collect sweet treats and check out our many wonderful shops and restaurants.

  • Beat the Winter Blues with Brews & Wine About Winter – Wellington

    Come enjoy tasting beer and wine with many local brews. We also have a special guest- the Lorain County Health Department who will be serving the non-alcoholic “Responsible Driver”, the winning drink from their zero-proof mix-off. Pre-Sale Tickets are $15 and available at Red Iron and Main Street Wellington. They are $20 at the door. Ticket includes 5 tastes, 5 free raffle tickets, and a chance at the grand prize that includes a stay at Spreng Hous, our downtown Bed and Breakfast.   • Downtown Tipp City’s Annual Founder’s Affair – Tipp City

    Downtown Tipp City’s Annual Founder’s Affair is going to be a roaring good time. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, February 21st from 6pm-8pm with a speakeasy theme. Gone are the days of prohibition but downtown will come together in the basement of the Tipp City Public Library to celebrate the history of downtown, accomplishments of this past year, and set a vision for the upcoming year for the organization.
