Recurring Events

  • March 2-7: Restaurant & Retail Week – Wooster
    Restaurant & Retail week is the perfect event for you and your family to experience the very best of  historic downtown Wooster! Participating restaurants will offer specials for one week only, a select lunch menu for $10 and/or a select dinner menu for $20. Participating retailers will be offering special discounts and promotions during the week. Retailers will be open until 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 5th to allow for you to shop after work and then grab a bite to eat or drink. This year, you will have the chance to win a $100 gift card to your favorite downtown business! For your chance to win, take a selfie at a participating restaurant or retail location, make sure to tag the appropriate business and the #UniquelyWooster.

March 5

  • Celebrate Portsmouth – Portsmouth
    Main Street Portsmouth is excited for an evening of friends and neighbors, celebrating downtown success over drinks and an update from Main Street staff and board members. Dinner will be served at 7 and will feature chicken, ribs, green beans, potatoes, coleslaw, and bread from the Scioto Ribber. Admission also includes an open bar and cake from Union Mills Confectionery. Music will be performed live by Mr. Andy Russell. Throughout the evening, guests are invited to browse the silent auction and bid on items. This event is one of Main Street’s larger fundraisers, and goes a long way in ensuring the continuation of our programming, events, and grants.

  • First Friday: March for Art – Delaware
    Local businesses act as art galleries and display artwork created by students from Delaware City Schools. During First Friday, the community is invited to stop by these “art galleries” and view the amazing artwork students have created. Take some time to explore many different types of art at participating downtown establishments, including live music, artist demonstrations, author book readings, and more!
  • Kent Rainbow Weekend – Kent
    Join Main Street Kent for the first ever Kent Rainbow Weekend! Complete with comedy, a bar crawl, art exhibits, storytelling, drag shows, live music/DJs, workshops and more, come to downtown Kent and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community!
  • First Friday: Shamrock & Roll – Marietta
    Head to downtown Marietta for this music walk-themed First Friday! Local musicians will be setup in downtown shops and St. Patrick’s Day flare will be on display.
  • First Friday: Think Spring! – Medina
    Grab your friends and head to historic Medina the first Friday of each month for an evening of socializing, dining, shopping, dancing, laughing, and merriment. Remember to check out the Medina City Schools Student Art Show!
  • First Friday: St. Patrick’s Day Beer Crawl – Tipp City
    Let’s kick off March together with Downtown Tipp City‘s 4th annual St. Patrick’s Day themed Beer Crawl around Downtown Tipp City! Bring your friends and come decked-out wearing your green! Stroll around sampling beers in shops, restaurants, and other establishments downtown.
  • First Friday: Scavenger Hunt – Troy
    Businesses will be open late so that you can shop, dine, and explore! March’s First Friday will feature a Scavenger Hunt!
  • First Friday: “Donut” Miss First Friday – Wadsworth
    “Donut” miss this First Friday. Need we say more? Shop local, dine local, and show lots of love to your downtown small businesses!

  • Kent Rainbow Weekend – Kent
    Join Main Street Kent for the first ever Kent Rainbow Weekend! Complete with comedy, a bar crawl, art exhibits, storytelling, drag shows, live music/DJs, workshops and more, come to downtown Kent and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community!
  • Kent Rainbow Weekend Bar Crawl – Kent
    You’re invited to join Main Street Kent for the inaugural Kent Rainbow Weekend Bar Crawl. Check in at the Venice Cafe from 5-8pm on Sat., March 7 to pick up your bar crawl pass, Absolut mason jar and rainbow swag; and enter the grand prize raffle. Head out on the town to enjoy the night, complete with Absolut drink specials and lots of entertainment. Downtown businesses will be hosting LGBTQ+ live music, drag shows, art exhibits, karaoke, open poetry readings and more. Grab dinner at a local spot and visit as many bar crawl establishments as you wish.

  • Ladies Night Out – Medina
    Head to Medina for a “tropical evening” of shopping, dining, and socializing. Pick up an event guide at the Medina County Visitors Bureau, and then head out to the stores and restaurants for some fun. Hawaiian shirts and beach wear encouraged! Every LNO guest will receive a shopping passport to use at participating businesses for a chance to win a massive gift basket, or $200 Main Street Medina bucks! Collect a stamp for each purchase you make that evening. When you have 5 stamps, turn your passport back in at the Visitors Bureau to be entered into the drawing.

  • St. Patrick’s Day 3.1 Beer Run – Piqua
    Happy St Patrick’s Day!! We can’t think of any better way to celebrate than with the 3.1 Beer Run! Come celebrate with Mainstreet Piqua by running a 5K and drinking a beer at every mile. Don’t drink beer? No problem – we have a root beer option!

    Join Main Street Portsmouth for their quarterly forum highlighting positivity through a series of speakers who will update guests on their public events and projects, answer questions anyone may have, and hear input from those in attendance.

February 1

  • Chocolate Crawl for a Cause – Medina
    Chill Ice Cream has a new way to Indulge your sweet tooth – Hand made chocolates! What better way to celebrate than to have YOU sample these gourmet chocolates while supporting a local charity! Your $10 ticket will benefit Faith in Action, a local non profit that provides transportation for home bound seniors to get to their doctor appointments.
  • Ice-A-Fair – Vermilion
    The 12th Annual Main Street Vermilion Ice-A-Fair is almost here! Join us in downtown Vermilion on Saturday, February 1, 2020 for a day of fun, ice sculptures and more. Enjoy more than 60 sculptures in downtown Vermilion, as well as the Ritter Public Library’s 2020 Chocolate Festival and Fire & Ice, a blazing display flames set to music and accompanied by fire dancers. You’ll be mesmerized as you watch the melting ice put our the fire…or does the fire topple the icy tower? It’s free and magical! Join us for the Meltdown Party afterwards at the Vermilion Boat Club, short stroll from the center of town.
  • Ice-A-Fair Meltdown Party – Vermilion
    You’re invited to “Meltdown” following Ice A Fair. Just a short walk from the center of town and the site of Fire & Ice, a spectacular display that caps the day, the party starts at 7PM. For $30 a person, enjoy music, heavy hors d’oeurves and a cash bar. There will be chances to win with more raffles including everyone’s favorite, COLD HARD CASH:$1000 frozen in a block of ice! Relax around the fireplace or enjoy the view of the river and Lagoons.

  • First Friday: Love is in the Air – Delaware
    Visit downtown shops and restaurants for a date night, time with friends, or the whole family to celebrate LOVE! Main Street is throwing a wedding! A previously selected winning couple will get married by Mayor Riggle inside Gather. The community is invited to attend and celebrate true love! Snuggle up with your love for a romantic carriage ride through the downtown. Rides are $15 per couple.
  • First Friday: Love is in the Air – Marietta
    With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we’ll be celebrating the season of love downtown! Shops will feature love-ly gifts, display themed window decorations, and downtown shoppers will have the chance to show off your big heart for #MyMarietta.
  • First Friday: Sweet Stroll – Medina
    1st Friday in February will include a Sweets Stroll of delicious treats, a Musical Flash Mob at the Gazebo, interactive Live Art at the Visitors’ Bureau, and Sweet Deals at the shops … open late!

    Do you 💜 Middletown? Then be sure to join us for February First Friday: I 💜 Middletown, presented by Middletown City Schools!   • First Friday: Live Models – Troy
    February’s First Friday will feature Live Models in the windows of our downtown stores and businesses. Businesses will be open late so that you can shop, dine, and explore!
  • Chocolate Walk – Van Wert
    Take a sweet stroll through downtown Van Wert! Show the event bag at each Chocolate Stop on the map to sample or collect nearly 20 chocolate treats. Grab friends or invite someone special and enjoy this excursion through downtown Van Wert. A limited number of tickets are available.
  • Soups vs. Soups! – Van Wert
    After Main Street Van Wert’s Chocolate Walk! Do you have what it takes to make a great soup to warm up the cold and hungry Choco-walkers? We want you to enter the first annual Soup Competition! $10 entry fee. Winner of the best soup, gets to boast a cool trophy for the year, receives half of the entry fees and takes home a large, hand-thrown bowl from potter Steve Smith! The more people who enter, the bigger the pot! We will be featuring David Holbrook & Denny Altaffer as our musician that night. Eat soup and listen to Jimmy belt out all the favorites!
  • First Friday: Downtown Date Night & Candyland Scavenger Hunt – Wadsworth

  • Annual Chocolate Walk – Delaware
    The Main Street Delaware Chocolate Walk is a tasty experience you won’t want to miss! With your $20 ticket, you will visit businesses and receive a treat at each one. Each business thoughtfully prepares a chocolate treat for you to experience their business in a unique, yummy way.
  • Main Street Kent Chocolate Walk – Kent
    Ticket holders can pick up Chocolate Walk maps, “passes,” and bags to collect their chocolate treats. Guests can stop at participating businesses to gather their chocolate surprises while shopping, having lunch, coffee, and/or drinks along the way. Ticket holders will be entered in a drawing for the grand prize: an overnight stay at the Kent State Hotel & Conference Center and dinner for two!
  • Black Bag Bingo – Lebanon
    Looking for a Fun Night Out with your girlfriends? Play for a chance to win designer handbags! Coach, Kate Spade, Cole Haan, Michael Kors and more will be up for grabs when Black Bag Bingo returns.
  • Ellen Vetter Chocolate Walk – Portsmouth
    Join Main Street Portsmouth for the Annual Ellen Vetter Chocolate Walk to collect sweet treats and check out our many wonderful shops and restaurants.
  • Workshop for Entrepreneurs – Van Wert
    Everyone who dreams of starting a business is encouraged to attend this free event. This free Fair offers a wide variety of assistance, counseling and information to promising entrepreneurs and emerging new businesses. There will be speakers on topics including: Starting Right: What’s First, Financing and Incentives, and an Ask the Experts session where area professionals will do a Q&A with the audience. A special element to the fair is the announcement of the Business Plan Challenge where individuals looking to begin a business in Van Wert County can create, submit, and present a business plan to a panel of judges for the chance to win business development funds.

    Who doesn’t LOVE Girl Scout Cookies?! Come join us in historic downtown Middletown for a family-friendly Cookie Walk! After checking in at the beautiful Windamere, you will walk to different shops, eateries and establishments to get 8 different Girl Scout cookies. For our 21 and older friends, each “Cookie Stop” will have a specially selected wine pairing available for purchase (not included in ticket price, sold separately at each location). Girl Scout cookie in one hand……paired wine in another…….does it get any better?!

  • Taste of Troy Trivia Night – Troy
    Taste of Troy Trivia Night is one of Troy Main Street’s favorite events to host. It is a night of food, fun, and community! Tickets are $25 per person (includes 1 drink ticket) or $175 per table. Additional beer/wine tickets are $5 each. (Credit card payments are subject to a service fee). All event and drink tickets must be purchased in advance! In between each round of trivia, you will get to sample a food item from a local Troy restaurant. Prizes from local businesses will be awarded to teams who win a round of Trivia.

  • Christmas Light Show – Cambridge
    Visit the annual Christmas Light Show in historic downtown Cambridge.
  • Dickens Victorian Village – Cambridge
    Take a trip back in time and experience old world England at historic downtown Cambridge, Ohio. It is charmingly transformed into a Dickens Victorian Village each holiday season. From November through December each year, visitors are invited to stroll amidst over 92 scenes of 180 lifelike figures representing classic scenes from the Victorian era. This innovative public art exhibition is enjoyed by families, couples, and groups alike – an experience that engages the senses as you explore the charming streetscape, striking historic architecture, and eclectic shops and eateries of Cambridge.
  • Stop, Shop, & Drop 20 – Chardon
    Chardon Tomorrow is challenging everyone to spend $20 at a locally-owned and operated business this holiday season. It’s time to give back to the local businesses who help sustain our local economy, donate to our organizations, and create our unparalleled sense of community.

    Experience the magic of a train ride with Santa himself. During your hour long journey, Santa and his elves will make their way through the train to visit with each family.     Shop at participating businesses Nov 15 – Dec 21 and enter to win $1000 cash. No limit to number of entries! Each participating business will also pick a winner from their entries to receive a $100 gift card to their business. Winners will be drawn Sunday, December 22 at noon at the Court House Square.
  • Downtown Tiffin Holiday Window Contest – Tiffin
    Help Downtown Tiffin celebrate the Holidays with a downtown tiffin window contest! Stop by the participating businesses and vote for your favorite. Voting begins November 30 on Small Business Saturday and ends December 5th. Winner announced at the Christmas tree Lighting on December 6th.

    Come visit with Santa in downtown Troy! Santa’s House is located on Prouty Plaza in downtown Troy and Santa will be available for visits throughout the holiday season.
  • Vermilion Arts Guild Holiday Show – Vermilion
    The final show of the season puts the focus on winter and the holidays. Shop for holiday gift items among paintings, photography, jewelry, woodworking, ceramics and more all created by local Vermilion artists.

    Story Mobs are a little bit different than our normal Cash Mobs. Participants aren’t expected to shop, unless they want to! Instead, Story Mobbers will hear backstories about each participating business directly from the business owner. Mobbers will enjoy refreshments, live demos, sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes tours, and/or more thanks to each of our *surprise* participating locations!

  • Christmas Lights on the Square – Chardon
    Join Chardon Tomorrow as they light up the square for Christmas! Along with the colorful lights, they will have live music and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus! Cider and ginger snaps are served throughout the evening.
  • Light Up Vermilion! – Vermilion
    Christmas lights and shopping at night…in small town style. Come to Vermilion this evening an evening of holiday fun and activities.

  • Home for the Holidays Weekend – Delaware
    Main Street Delaware brings you a holiday to remember! Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 pm.  Join other families and feel the sense of love and community as we light our magnificent Christmas Tree at the corner of William and Sandusky Streets. Delaware’s tree lighting is a magical experience. Other Friday night highlights include: – Horse-drawn carriage rides $1 per person, over the age of 5 – Life-sized snow globe – Frozen themed bounce house – Visits with Santa – Carolers and live musical performances – Magic and kids activities – Shopping and store specials
  • First Friday: Art Walk – Kent

  • First Friday: Moonlight Madness – Marietta
    December’s First Friday is a favorite for all of Marietta to enjoy! Shops are open EXTRA late for Moonlight Madness, some staying open straight through ’til midnight! Participating stores will each have a savings bucket filled with snowballs, each marked with a discount percentage ranging from 10% to 50%. Shoppers can select their merchandise and at the checkout, select a snowball for their surprise discount! Every single shopper will enjoy a discount at all participating locations throughout this entire Hometown Holidays events. Grab your holiday gift lists and head downtown for this year’s Moonlight Madness to #shoplocal this holiday season!

    Downtown is getting HOT for our December First Friday! No matter the temperature outside, we will warm you up with a dozen or more Hot Chocolate Stops! Pick up your Passport Guide in Governor’s Square (corner of Central and Broad) to learn all of the tasty stops! Get stamped at each stop to be entered to win FREE HOT CHOCOLATE FOR A YEAR, thanks to our friends at Triple Moon Coffee Company and Mockingbirds! The event is family friendly but there will be “Boozy” & Delish Hot Chocolates options or mixers available for purchase at some stops for our 21+ friends.
  • Mount Vernon Christmas Festival – Mount Vernon
    The festivities downtown kick off in downtown Mount Vernon with Lights & Carols at 7:00 P.M. Santa arrives in style with a ride from Knox Motor Group. He starts the festivities by lighting the tree on the Public Square. After this, local musical groups will lead a Christmas Music sing along.
  • Christmas on the Green – Piqua
    Community caroling, horse-drawn carriage rides, strolling characters, children’s activities and live entertainment make this family-oriented holiday celebration a “must do” on many calendars. Stop in and visit downtown Piqua’s many stores to choose the perfect gift for your loved one.
  • Tree Lighting & Holiday Celebration – Tipp City
    Join Downtown Tipp City at the Zion Lutheran Church for the illumination of the Downtown Christmas Tree! This is a fun and festive event for all ages! Enjoy tunes from the Community Band, sing along with the Tipp City High School Choir, or snack on some delicious treats.
  • A Very Merry Main Street Christmas – Van Wert
    Head to historic downtown Van Wert for a day of festive celebration, including the Christmas tree lighting, Free train rides, crafts, hot cocoa, cookies, and photos with Santa. See the event listing for a full list of activities.

    Wadsworth’s traditional and cherished Candlelight Walk event a First Friday this year! Come downtown to get into the holiday spirit, stroll the luminary-lined streets, shop and dine local, and check out unique gingerbread houses on display inside of downtown businesses!
  • Downtown Churches Walking Tour – Wooster
    Tour 8 historical Downtown Wooster churches in one evening. At each church, participants can sing a Christmas carol, hear a bit of the church’s history & admire their Christmas decorations.

  • Northpole Adventures – Cambridge
    Help the less fortunate this holiday season and visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and the gang from the North Pole in historic downtown Cambridge! Pre-registration is required and admission is by donation, either monetary or a non-perishable food item listed on the event page. All items will be donated to the Grace Pantry to help stock their shelves.
  • Home for the Holidays Weekend – Delaware
    Main Street Delaware brings you a holiday to remember! Dash for Dasher Scavenger Hunt – Santa has lost Dasher! Explore downtown Delaware following Santa’s clues to find him and have fun along the way. Main Street Delaware will collect a voluntary monetary donation or a box of cereal for our local food pantries. Holiday Shopping Extravaganza! Shop downtown Delaware stores with holiday specials, deals or snacks! Participate by getting a stamp at each store you make a purchase, turn in your card for a chance to win Chocolate Walk tickets!
  • The Holiday Marietta Marketplace – Marietta
    The Holiday Marietta Marketplace is a unique, mobile curated market showcasing the products of local and regional vendors and small businesses. This marketplace is located in the heart of downtown, providing visitors the opportunity to browse booths of art, quality handcrafts, vintage goods, and much more!
  • Jingle Booze Holiday Bar Crawl – Marietta
    Join Marietta Main Street for a Holiday Bar Crawl. Participants will receive exclusive drink discounts and food offers, as well as custom merchandise opportunities.
  • Mount Vernon Christmas Festival – Mount Vernon
    The Christmas Showcase will provide various forms of Christmas themed entertainment for the whole family to enjoy! Check out downtown to join in and spread some Christmas cheer!     The theme of this year’s Christmas parade is “Christmas in the Movies” and will include prize categories as in previous years. The cemetery is a place of traditions and innovations, of massive memorials and small remembrances and examples of old world markers and new world adaptions. Tour is led by local historian Jim Oda.

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland Take a Hike Tour in Cleveland
    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.
  • South Town Cruise-In – Medina
    Join Main Street Medina for a weekly cruise-in in Medina’s South Town, Tuesday evenings, May 21-September 24th from 4-8pm at 233 Lafayette Rd (the former Hawkins Market parking lot, soon to be the new home of Medina County Habitat for Humanity). Ray Boylston, Senior Associate of RLS & Associates Inc., is to give the first local presentation on the proposed deviated fixed bus route for Tiffin, with time for community input.   • Victory Heights & Clark Avenue Walking Tour – Piqua
    Victory Heights was a World War II housing complex and Clark Avenue holds many additional homes from that era. From brick bungalows built into the hill to the addition of asbestos and cement shingling (Glatex), the war made a huge impact on Clark Avenue housing. At the bottom of the hill, war industries such as the Wood Shovel & Tool Company and the Meteor Motor Car Company provided full employment to Clark Avenue residents who had just recently been suffering through the Great Depression.

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland Take a Hike Tour in Cleveland
    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.
  • South Town Cruise-In – Medina
    Join Main Street Medina for a weekly cruise-in in Medina’s South Town, Tuesday evenings, May 21-September 24th from 4-8pm at 233 Lafayette Rd (the former Hawkins Market parking lot, soon to be the new home of Medina County Habitat for Humanity). Beginning in May 1919, the sale, manufacturing, and transportation of alcoholic beverages became illegal. Bootlegging, backwoods stills, speakeasies, and corruption all grew, creating rampant illegal consumption… and that’s just here in Washington County! But why are we telling you all this when you can learn for yourself during this fun bar crawl? Oh, and don’t forget you’ll be drinking for a good cause. This event serves as a fundraiser for both The Castle – Marietta, Oh & Marietta Main Street. Cheers!

  • East Green Summer Concert Series: New Day Collective – Tiffin
    The New Day is a collective of vertan Detroit musicians. A new project, the band formed in 2019 and is currently working on their first record. Stylistically the band is rooted in Jazz Fusion, Funk, Rock, Latin, R&B and Hip Hop with a Detroit edge. The band plays a mix of originals and select covers from bands like The Brecker Bros, and Snarky Puppy and The Crusaders.

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland Take a Hike Tour in Cleveland
    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.
  • South Town Cruise-In – Medina
    Join Main Street Medina for a weekly cruise-in in Medina’s South Town, Tuesday evenings, May 21-September 24th from 4-8pm at 233 Lafayette Rd (the former Hawkins Market parking lot, soon to be the new home of Medina County Habitat for Humanity). See some of the best classic, collectible, rat rod, hot rod, and muscle cars in Northeast Ohio, and enjoy classic tunes from the 1950-70’s with DJ Bruce.   • Historic US Route 20 Update/Refresh – Painesville
    The Historic US Route 20 Association aims to promote travel along the original 1926 alignment of US Route 20. This alignment avoids interstate highways and bypasses. The organization wish to bring people back into small town America, to shop locally and support local businesses to boost economic development in communities that may be bypassed by interstate highways or other more popular routes. The Association offers educational programs to these communities and works with local organizations and community leaders to discuss and implement the placement of historic markers indicating the original route to guide travelers and bring much needed attention to many small towns. The goal is to make US Route 20 a popular alternative to its more famous cousin, Route 66.

The Right Now’s pop-meets-soul sound is more than a vehicle for Stefanie Berecz’s captivating voice.     Sculptures on the Square features 22 life-sized sculptures created by internationally renowned artist, Seward Johnson. There is also one sculpture created by local artist, Shannon Timura, that will be on display. Troy Main Street also invites visitors to be “Be Part of the Art” with art-related activities and experiences throughout the exhibition period. June 14th will serve as the kick-off gala with onsite artists and a musical performance led by 50s and 60s variety group, The Buzz Ford Show featuring the American Kings.

Individually, MCH members have worked with a variety of artists, bands, and orchestras, including Justin Timberlake, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Yo-Yo Ma.     Join Heritage Ohio in Van Wert as we explore Design in Downtown. We have several speakers lined up to talk with you about local projects as well as hands-on opportunities to do some placemaking in Downtown Van Wert. We will have sessions on painting colorful crosswalks, opportunities to discover how temporary signage can increase foot traffic in your downtown as well as a chance to spruce up an existing pedestrian alleyway. Please come prepared by wearing comfortable shoes and clothes that you do not mind getting splashed with a little paint.   • Downtown Mini Golf – Marietta
    Downtown businesses have created their very own custom putting greens for community members to putt their way around downtown. People of all ages can enjoy the putting greens by purchasing a $5 wrist band from the Main Street tent at the Armory from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Wrist bands are free for kids 12 and under accompanied by an adult. (Tickets are only sold day of at the Armory). All golfers will receive a score card to be used as they go around to each hole and putt, shop, eat, and have fun!
  • South Town Cleanup – Medina
    Main Street Medina, in partnership with the City of Medina, will host our first cleanup day in the South Town District, roughly bordered by Smith, Broadway, Lafayette, and Huntington. Snacks, trash bags, gloves and vests will be provided. Please bring rakes, brooms, and shovels, and a personal reusable water bottle.
  • Art on Main – Ravenna

  • Pizza Palooza – Tiffin Pizza
    Bring the whole family to enjoy a taste of Tiffin and Seneca County! Attendees can purchase $1 tickets that can be redeemed for a slice of pizza from any vendor, snacks, soda, or water. Half of each ticket sold will go toward downtown revitalization. During the event, The Porter & Sayles Band will be playing live at the Frost-Kalnow Amphitheater.

  • Heritage Ohio Preservation Month Photo Contest

    Preservation Month is nearly here and 2019 marks the 10th year of our Preservation Month Photo Contest. This year’s theme is Urban Renewal, but with a twist. While Urban Renewal may have once consisted of demoing whole blocks of city buildings, without any care or thought about the people in the buildings, let alone the character of the buildings, Urban Renewal today means the revitalization of cities, its people, and its heritage.

    So, here’s your contest assignment: take a picture that captures your community’s best Urban Renewal efforts, whether an event image in a revitalized business district, a historic building once slated for demo that’s been saved and rehabbed, or even the underutilized block of buildings that will, once restored, again contribute to the renewal of the neighborhood. Entries are due by May 10th.

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland

    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.

  • South Town Cruise-In – Medina
    Join Main Street Medina for a weekly cruise-in in Medina’s South Town, Tuesday evenings, May 21-September 24th from 4-8pm at 233 Lafayette Rd (the former Hawkins Market parking lot, soon to be the new home of Medina County Habitat for Humanity). See some of the best classic, collectible, rat rod, hot rod, and muscle cars in Northeast Ohio, and enjoy classic tunes from the 1950-70’s with DJ Bruce. The South Town Cruise-In is free and open to the public.

  • First Friday: Putter Around Downtown – Delaware
    Enjoy a miniature putt-putt course around the downtown businesses! For a fee of $5 per person, your family can go on a putt-putt adventure around our downtown businesses! Completed scorecards may be returned to the tent to be entered into a drawing to win a prize. Putters and balls will be provided.

Art vendors will be set up along Central Avenue for one of a kind shopping and artists will be showcasing their skills with demonstrations, workshops and tutorials inside downtown businesses.   • Jane’s Walk – Kent
    Using the history and stories gathered for his new book Small Town, Big Music, author Jason Prufer will provide a tour of locations in Kent significant to the history of Rock and Roll! Come learn and reminisce about Kent’s Rock and Roll past and hear one-of-a-kind commentary and insight from Jason. Attendees will meet at Hometown Bank Plaza and the walking tour will leave promptly at 12 pm.
  • RiverCon – Middletown
    Come experience where Star Wars and the Great Miami River meet. At this new event, guests will have the chance to participate in a Star Wars costume contest, a 5-mile Star Wars costume bike ride or 5K costume walk on the Great Miami River Trail (pre-registration required). But, that’s not all! Train like a Jedi with a variety of fitness activities and learn how to stay safe with water-related demonstrations.

  • 21st Annual Gazebo Garden Walk – Wellington
    The 21st Annual Gazebo Garden Walk is Wellington’s way to officially welcome spring!  There will be over 60 vendors outside and inside of the Town Hall, and next door in the Fire Station with handmade crafts, art, photography, jewelry, clothing, home decor, quilts, purses, garden art, flowers, plants, edible treats, kettle korn, upcycled items, antiques, and more. Lunch will be served in the Town Hall between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

    Join Heritage Ohio in Wadsworth on for the 2nd Revitalization Series Workshop of 2019. The focus of this workshop will be on promotions. Though Main Street programs do many of the critical tasks through design, economic vitality, and organization, the promotions committee is, in general, responsible for activating the downtown through events. Events are what everyone knows Main Streets do, it is one of the highly visible aspects of what we do and can sometimes be the only thing that many in our communities know about us.

Find out how partnerships can enhance your events, learn how to create unique experiences, tackle social media to improve marketing efforts, tell your story through video, and create the one thing Main Street can’t survive without, a sustainable volunteer culture.
