Webinar: Facade Enhancement Programs

Join us for a discussion on downtown facade enhancement programs. The Façade Enhancement Program is a City of Tiffin reimbursement grant that was established in 2014 and provides a 50 percent match of funds for eligible exterior improvements on residential and commercial structures within the downtown historic district, up to $10,000.

Aaron Montz HeadshotAaron Montz, President & CEO of the Tiffin Seneca Economic Partnership (TSEP), will speak about the history of the program and how it was started in Downtown Tiffin.





Donna Gross HeadshotDonna Gross, Downtown Tiffin Main Street Manager, will discuss her involvement with assisting building owners in the application process. She will share “before and after” photos of completed façades in the historic district.


 

Dan Brickner HeadshotDan Brickner, City of Tiffin Zoning Inspector, will describe the Architectural Board of Review (ABR) approval and reimbursement process for the grant.

 

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding for Non-Entitlement Ohio Communities Webinar

Community Development Block Grant money for non-entitlement communities is managed through the Office of Community Development at Ohio’s Development Services Agency. Money is available to help revitalize our small downtowns. The program has seen some changes, so its time to introduce or refresh your familiarity with the ground rules for using this money, and how and when to apply.

Our Town grant announcement

The National Endowment for the Arts has announced its latest round of funding for its Our Town initiative. Eligible activities include Arts Engagement, Cultural Planning, or Design. Prior grant recipients in Ohio have included: Westcott House Foundation in Springfield (2014), Pomerene Center for the Arts in Coshocton (2013), Detroit Shoreway in Cleveland (2012), Art Opportunities in Cincinnati (2012), and Artspace in Hamilton (2011), so the NEA is familiar with Our Town projects in Ohio.

Ohio Department of Development Announces Targets of Opportunity Downtown Grant

The Ohio Department of Development recently released the pre-assesment worksheet for the Discretionary Targets of Opportunity for Downtown Revitalization Grant. The Discretionary Grant Program provides funding for “target of opportunity” community development, housing, emergency shelter and special projects and activities that do not fit within the structure of existing programs and to provide supplemental resources to resolve immediate and unforeseen needs. Please find the worksheet HERE
