Wood Windows Workshop

If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about how wood windows work, or if you’ve been thinking about tackling your own windows DIY project, then Young Ohio Preservationists invite you to attend a hands-on windows workshop March 14-15. Over the course of two days (you can register for just one day, or for two) you will learn about the basics of window anatomy, the installation of weather stipping, the repair of weight ropes, how to cut and replace glass, and how to glaze window sash.
As an added bonus, you’ll be helping to preserve original wood windows for a 1920s Dutch Colonial Revival home in Columbus’ historic Westgate neighborhood. The home is owned by Columbus CDC, Homes on the Hill, and this rehabilitation effort will be one part of a comprehensive effort to get the home ready for a new family. You can learn more about Homes on the Hill here.
