    Looking for even more fireworks displays for Independence Day? Here’s your list. 

  • Main Street Makeovers – Marietta

    We have partnered with Marietta Main Street to invite local business owners and employees in for a free makeover! With your permission, we would like to take before and after photos (after photo in your place of business) and share them to our social media. It would be a great way to cross-promote local businesses and our support for one another.

  • Duck Drop Coloring Contest – Piqua

    The 2018 Duck Drop Coloring Contest is now open! PRIZES: (1st) $50 Cinemark Gift Card; (2nd) Stuffed Ducks for the kids, and in the 13+ division a Duck Adoption for this year’s race; (3rd) Farmers Market Dollars. Entries due to the Mainstreet office by 7/26. Winners announced 8/2.

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland

    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.

  • The Dog Days of Summer – Wellington

    A fun event for dogs and the people who love them. Friendly dogs on a non-retractable leash are welcome!
    Play games like Musical Sit [musical chairs with your dog] or a “wet t-shirt” contest. Visit with many local shelters and non profit groups. You may find a “fur-ever” family member and start the adoption process. Enter a contest- like a dog – owner look alike, or best trick etc.
    Cool off in a paddle pool/sprinkler area and plenty of water stations.

  • Antique Car Festival – Wellington

    Stroll through downtown Wellington’s park and see dozens of Antique [pre-1933] Cars, bicycles, motorcycles and more.
    A mother and son musical group, Uhl Entertainment will be performing music from 1890-1930. The lovely Leslie Simonson will host a Victorian Fashion Show.

  • Old Glory Day – Chardon

    Join the bike parade and holiday festivities!

  • Fourth Fest – Piqua

    Head to downtown Piqua for Fourth Fest. This year’s festivities include the bicycle parade, a cornhole tournament, magic show, live music, fireworks, and the reveal of the Piqua music video.

  • Ohio Light Opera Community Pops Concert – Wooster

    Celebrate a glorious 4th with the annual Community Pops Concert, presented by Main Street Wooster and the Ohio Light Opera Orchestra & Chorus. Bring a chair, watch the concert and still have plenty of time to see fireworks at the Kinney Fields.

  • First Friday: Chalk It for Freedom – Delaware

    Main Street Delaware invites everyone to “Chalk It Up for Freedom!” First Friday sidewalk chalk art event.  Come on down, grab some of the supplied chalk, and join us in decorating our downtown sidewalks with your artwork.

  • First Friday Art Walk – Kent

    Join Main Street Kent for the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Kent! All participating galleries and businesses will stay open until at least 8pm on the first Friday of each month, for all to come enjoy and explore the artwork inside their businesses. Enjoy refreshments, enter in special drawings, view artist demonstrations and participate in activities throughout the downtown district.

  • Front Porch Concert Series – Lakewood

    Join LakewoodAlive on Friday evenings from 7-9 pm this summer for LakewoodAlive’s Front Porch Concert Series! This week features The Rough & Tumble. Prolific songwriters and born-travelers, this folk-Americana duo takes its audience on a musical adventure with the unique sound and energy they bring to every performance. Attendees are encouraging to bring their family, friends, blankets, chairs and snacks for an entertaining evening at this open-air venue.

  • First Friday: Downtown Art Walk – Marietta

    July’s First Friday is Downtown Art Walk. This month, we celebrate the art community in Marietta by highlighting public art, local art groups, local artists, art galleries, and more.

  • First Friday: Ice Cream Social – Middletown

    Join us for July’s First Friday celebration in Downtown Middletown as we throw an old fashioned Ice Cream Social! You will have a SWEET time with fantastic music featuring old fashioned quartets, ragtime music, shopping specials, children’s activities and of course, plenty of ICE CREAM! And we have even better news! You have an excuse to start eating ice cream regularly as “training” for Downtown Middletown’s first ever ICE CREAM EATING CONTEST! Get your game face on!

  • Community Movie Night: Coco – Middletown

    While at the Ice Cream Social, head over to the free showing of Coco at 8 PM.

  • First Friday: Blast from the Past – Mount Vernon

    First Fridays are family-friendly events celebrated on the first Friday of each month, June through September. MSMV invites you to explore historic downtown Mount Vernon through live entertainment, classic car cruise-in during June, July, and August, and a variety of local food and shopping, kids’ entertainment, a beer garden, and more.
    Friday, July 6 will be a “Blast from the Past” with the Unusual Suspects on the main stage and Sarah Goslee Reed & Keen on the South Stage at Buchwald Plaza.

  • First Friday: Wadsworth Art Walk – Wadsworth

    Stroll through downtown Wadsworth, shop small, dine local, and enjoy what participating businesses and organizations offer.
    Highlights of this First Friday are:
    – Face painting station at the Gazebo 5:30-8:30 p.m.
    – Color with Piper The Therapy Dog at the Gazebo 5:30-8:30
    – A lifesize mural in the alley between BIcksler Electronic and The Sub Station
    – Beautifully decorated trees with knitted tree wraps

  • LOVE FEST Music Festival – Chardon

    LOVE FEST is an annual open-air music festival that takes place on Chardon Square. LOVE FEST gives stage to the up-and-coming heroes of the next generation of music. We embrace bands from as far way as Canada as well as from our backyard of NE Ohio. Our common ground is excellent music from a variety of genres fresh from the streets of your town, USA & Beyond.
    LOVE is central to all we do as a festival: love of music; love of culture; love for our picturesque hometown; and for the earth we play on. We strive to protect and respect our beautiful environment by minimizing waste as much as possible. LOVE FEST is always free and open to the community.

  • Main Street Sidewalk & Street Sale – Portsmouth

    Join Main Street Portsmouth downtown on July 7, between noon and 5 p.m., as we close Second Street to welcome outside vendors and bring the brick and mortar businesses to the sidewalks, for a day of the sidewalk sales that used to fill our streets. We will also have an inflatable for kids to enjoy while parents shop, as well as music on location.

  • Historic Preservation Tax Credit Coffees – Ashtabula, Painesville, Chardon, & Cleveland Heights

    Have you been wondering about historic tax credit programs here in Ohio?
    Wondering about the application and review process? Here is an easy introduction to the 20% federal historic tax credit and 25% Ohio historic preservation tax credit which you can use to rehabilitate your historic building.
    Come chat at a quick informal get together to learn about how the historic tax credit programs work and meet the people who manage them.

  • Story Mob – Marietta

    Story Mobs are brand new to the 2018 Cash Mob event lineup. Each Story Mob focuses on telling the stories of 3 different businesses downtown. Participants aren’t expected to shop, unless they want to! Instead, Story Mobbers will hear backstories about each participating business directly from the business owner. Mobbers will enjoy refreshments, live demos, sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes tours, and more thanks to each of our *surprise* participating locations!

  • Ladies Night Out – Medina

    It’s a night out for the ladies of Medina. Grab some friends and hit the Medina Square for some shopping and socializing fun. Most stores are open later hours, and will be offering special sales and snacks.

  • Front Porch Concert Series – Lakewood

    Join LakewoodAlive on Friday evenings from 7-9 pm this summer for LakewoodAlive’s Front Porch Concert Series! This week features a talented group of performers representing The Lakewood Music Collective. Attendees are encouraging to bring their family, friends, blankets, chairs and snacks for an entertaining evening at this open-air venue.

  • Downtown Piqua Sidewalk Sales – Piqua

    Out with the old and in with the new!  Be sure to visit downtown Piqua for the legendary sidewalk sales with a huge variety of merchandise at blowout prices.

  • Fridays on Prouty – Troy

    Award winning Nikki D and the Sisters of Thunder will take the stage on July 13 at 7:30 pm for the downtown, Fridays on Prouty concert series. They have a hard-driving rock-influenced gospel-based sound that will drive us home without asking any questions. A supreme highlight of the show is the surprising abandon of the great Nikki D’s steel guitar. The sisters have promised us “You Make Me Want to Shout”, “Change Gonna Come” and “Still the One”, but do not come with any preconceived ideas for what these Sisters of Thunder will accomplish on stage. Just know that you will be lifted to their level, on this summer night, in Troy, Ohio.

  • Fountain Park Summer Music Series – Van Wert

    Head to Fountain Park to hear 60s rock band, The Cyrkle. The Cyrkle was a short-lived American rock and roll band active in the mid-1960s. The group charted two Top 40 hits, “Red Rubber Ball,” and “Turn-Down Day”. In 1966, The Cyrkle was opening for the Beatles on their last U.S. tour. They are now back together and will help you re-live those happy days.

  • Sounds of Downtown – Wooster

    Come stroll along to wonderful music in Downtown Wooster. Main Street Wooster presents “Sounds of Downtown!” This street music series concert will feature Craig Butdorf on steel drums & Karen Alley playing folk music.

  • Summer Concert on the Square – Chardon

    Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a fabulous evening of music and fun for the entire family on the historic Chardon Square! Nearly 175 musicians will be performing! The Blizzard Youth Winds play at 7:00pm with the Lake Effect Concert Band immediately following. Come early and enjoy small musical groups on the square before the concert. Make an evening of it by packing a picnic dinner or visiting food trucks.

  • Walk & Dine – Cleveland

  • Knowing Your Home: Hands-On Window Repair Workshop – Lakewood

    Join LakewoodAlive and Lakewood Hardware for our hands-on window repair workshop. Repairing a window is not only energy efficient and environmentally friendly, but it also helps to keep the historic look and feel of your wonderfully old home. Rotted frames, deteriorated sashes and leaky frames can generally be fixed in window restoration — even a rotting window isn’t necessarily too far gone for restoration. Glenn Palmer will be leading the evening and working with class participants to check window sashes, identify parts of the window, learn simple window repairs such as sash repair, glazing, sash cord repair etc.
    Knowing Your Home is an educational series focused on best sustainability and home maintenance practices empowering homeowners to tackle necessary repairs and improvements.

  • Wayne County Historical Society Summer Community Band Concert – Wooster

    Wayne County Historical Society Summer Community Band is presenting a concert in front of “Everything Rubbermaid” in Downtown Wooster. They will be playing “fun” songs – marches, show tunes, patriotic songs, etc. The band will be performing under the baton of Mr. Randy Claes. Spectators will need to bring their own lawn chairs.

  • Fridays on Prouty – Troy

    Higgins and Madewell will bring their version of “Hippie Country that Rocks” to Prouty Plaza on Friday, July 20th at 7:30 pm. Both Erin and Jeff have had a broad musical background and their selections can range from Johnny Cash to Janis Joplin. Erin Higgins’ incredible vocal range and deep relationship to the lyrics carries out the story of their music as Jeff Madewell’s masterful acoustic guitar completes the interpretation. Erin says: “It’s really a blend of all different genres, He comes from more of a rock and metal background, and I tend to go more towards country and folk. We both like the blues, so there aren’t many styles you won’t hear us play…” Like Johnny and June, these two were just meant to make music together.

    Head to Fountain Park to hear Summer Breezin’ and enjoy the music of Seals & Croft and America, this will be a magical evening for you. You’ll be amazed that you recall every song of these two biggest soft rock bands of its era. It’s going to be the perfect summer concert.

    Main Street Vermilion brings another season of free, family-friendly flicks under the stars and riverside at East Exchange Park in the heart of downtown Vermilion. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and your favorite movie snacks. Or walk over to Poppin’ Around at 5491 Liberty and get a bag of free popcorn from this popular merchant. Movies start at dusk
    The adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters-Margo, Edith and Agnes-and the Minions continue in Despicable Me 3 (PG).

    The Main Street Portsmouth Wine and Dine Walk Brought to you by Patties and Pints. This event creates an opportunity for the community to come and enjoy the exciting parts of life by exploring retailers while enjoying exquisite wine, and trying appetizers from some of the best restaurants downtown offers. Guests will make their way through stops, going between retailers with wine onsite and restaurants serving food.

  • 4th Annual Town Creek Live – Van Wert

    The Wassenberg Art Park will be complete in time for this year’s Town Creek Live! A unique festival with a blend of performing art, interactive visual art, music, gourmet food and silliness is just what you ordered, right here at home. Main Street Van Wert and the Wassenberg Art Center team up every year to power this growing event.
    Joining us this year is Woodland Sky Group, who will perform (2) Lakota Pow Wows, U.R.B of Fort Wayne for some afternoon jam music and popular Toledo band The 25s! Don’t forget gourmet food trucks, the Duck Derpy (up to $1500 winnings!). Ducks on sale now! Town Creek Grow, a giant field of sunflowers in our gallery and Scrubby Bubble the art & sound car will be giving visitors rides around the expanded festival area.
    Adopt a duckie for a chance to win $1500 and other prizes in the annual Town Creek Duck Derpy. Proceeds of duck sales are shared between Main Street Van Wert, the Wassenberg Art Center and a community charity.

  • Chalk it Up! – Vermilion

    Starting at noon, watch as the roads and walks along Main Street begin filling up with bright chalk drawings created by local artistic talent. This year, look for storybook characters and all sorts of “nods” to reading! Enjoy some family and kid-friendly interactive opportunities, too as you watch the streets transform.
    At 3PM, you’re invited to Victory Park for a free, community-wide picnic to celebrate 100 years of Ritter Public Library. Enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers freshly prepared by the Lions Club and cupcakes from Vermilion’s Small Town Sweets. A free concert in the park begins at 6PM starring Emily Keener, local talent and American Idol contestant.
    Stroll this “middle-of-the-road” gallery of expression as you come downtown to shop and dine for the evening.

  • Farm to Table – Painesville

    This is the Fifth Farm to Table for the Downtown Painesville Organization. Local Chefs creating dishes from local produce and protein. The event will have stations set-up for each of the chefs and guests will have an opportunity to taste each of the creations. Included in the price of the event are signature cocktails, beer, wine, food, and entertainment from HorseFeathers.

  • The Race That Shall Not Be Named – Kent

    This noncompetitive* 5 ¾ K Fun Run (or walk) will take participants on a magical journey through the Kent State campus at dusk on Friday, July 27 to kick off Wizardly World of Kent 2018. The run will begin at 7:30pm under the arch on the Lester Lefton Esplanade, taking runners on a spellbinding loop though some of Kent State’s most magnificent places. Participants are highly encouraged to dress in magically themed costumes, and several photo opportunities will be located along the course for selfies and group pictures.

  • Front Porch Concert Series – Lakewood

    Join LakewoodAlive on Friday evenings from 7-9 pm this summer for LakewoodAlive’s Front Porch Concert Series! This week features Drumplay, a percussion-based band that brings a unique sound to each live performance.   • Fountain Park Summer Music Series – Van Wert

    Head to Fountain Park and hear Kaitlyn Baker. This young American country music singer and songwriter was raised in Wise County Virginia where her father and grandfather worked in the coal mines. You’re going to love listening to this new up and coming country girl many have hailed as the new “coal miner’s daughter.”

  • Wizardly World of Kent – Kent

    Magic and wizard fans of all ages…join us at this FREE event in the City of Kent! (Some paid activities will also be available.) Main Street Kent is hosting this event in partnership with Akron Children’s Hospital. Festivities will include costume contests, live music, a scavenger hunt, magic shows, photo opportunities, food trucks, vendor booths (licensed and hand-crafted merchandise) and more.

  • Knowing Your Home: Generators 101 Workshop – Lakewood

    Join LakewoodAlive and Cleveland Lumber Company for a workshop dedicated to learning all about generators.
    Our workshop will focus on educating folks on the very most basics of generators:
    – what are they?
    – Different styles
    – What situations do they work best?
    – How much can they energize?
    – We will then move on to the topic of how they work and learn more about their everyday maintenance.
    – Lastly, we will be focusing on the safety aspect of owning and using a generators during emergencies.
    Our goal is help folks decide if a generator is right for them and if it is, what type would work best for their situation.

  • Thunderfest Cruise-in – Middletown

    Join us for the 6th Annual Thunderfest Cruise-In in downtown Middletown. This event is a free for all. Calling all classic cars, hot rods, street rods, rat roads, pulling tractors, motorcycles and MORE! Hourly cackle fest – ear plugs recommended! Come spend the day exploring unique cars, boutiques and eateries in historic Downtown Middletown!
