• Take a Hike – Cleveland
  

  Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.

September 6

• College of Wooster Pipe Band & Highland Dancers – Wooster
  

  Join Main Street Wooster for The College of Wooster Pipe Band & Highland Dancers concert. This performance is FREE & open to the public. Bring your chairs!

September 7

• First Friday: Celebrate School Spirit! – Delaware
  

  School spirit – hey, let’s hear, see, and celebrate it at Main Street Delaware’s First Friday event!

  The celebration will feature the Delaware debut of the Ohio Wesleyan University Marching Bishops and on-stage performances by students from schools throughout the city and county, along with a concert by central Ohio’s Jimmy’s Last Chance rock band. Delaware-area cheerleaders and mascots also are invited to help add to the fun. In addition, everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite school colors to the first-time event, and local educators are invited to stop by a Teacher Appreciation Tent for special recognition and treats. Finally, there won’t be any tests at Main Street Delaware’s “Celebrate School Spirit” event, but families are invited to try their hand at a round of downtown trivia. Completed game cards may be placed in drawings for free passes to upcoming school sporting events and other prizes.

• First Friday: Art Walk – Kent
  

  Join Main Street Kent for the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Kent! All participating galleries and businesses will stay open until at least 8pm on the first Friday of each month, for all to come enjoy and explore the artwork inside their businesses. Enjoy refreshments, enter in special drawings, view artist demonstrations and participate in activities throughout the downtown district.

• Front Porch Concert Series – Lakewood
  

  Head downtown for LakewoodAlive’s Front Porch Concert Series! This week features The Light of Day Band, a Cleveland-based funk and R&B group. This band is renowned for its high-energy performances, making it the perfect choice to culminate the 2018 Front Porch Concert Series. Attendees are encouraging to bring their family, friends, blankets, chairs and snacks for an entertaining evening at this open-air venue.

• First Friday: Back to School Bash – Marietta
  

  September’s First Friday is Back to School Bash. School is back in session! Let’s welcome students, schools, academics, educators, and more into downtown for a fun night uplifting our local schools.

• First Friday – Medina
  

  Spend a Friday evening in the Medina Historic District, and visit the wonderful shops, boutiques, attractions, and so much more. Many stores open until 9pm. Planned activities include live music at different businesses, pop up art shows, and special sales.

• Fur-st Friday: Dog Day Downtown – Middletown
  

  Downtown Middletown is going to the dogs, again! Join us in downtown Middletown for the 4th Annual First Friday: DOG DAY DOWNTOWN! This evening is all about you and your best friend! Bring your BFF’s (Best Furry Friends) to downtown Middletown to enjoy loads of free treats, free vaccinations, $20 Microchipping, explore multiple animal rescues, fun shopping and more!

  Check-in with us at Governors Square (corner of Central Ave & Broad St) to grab your Doggie Bag and guide for the evening. From there, you can collect free dog treats and goodies from local businesses downtown.

• First Friday: Back to School & Farm Friday – Mount Vernon
  

  Send off summer in style with “Back to School & Farm Friday”. Katty Whomp-Us will rock the main stage as the Mount Vernon Community Band takes the South Stage at Buchwald Plaza.

• First Friday: See Yourself in Tipp Selfie Scavenger Hunt – Tipp City
  

  This free event takes you on a Selfie Scavenger Hunt downtown! Post your pics on Facebook using the hashtag #tippcityselfie to be entered to win a prize. Be on the lookout for additional prizes along the way! You can pick up your scavenger hunt list at Living Simply Soap. Stay for the Wolf Moon Revival concert following the scavenger hunt.

• First Friday: PiratePalooza – Wadsworth
  

  Pirates take over downtown Wadsworth! Grab the family and run downtown for an evening of pirate fun. Shops throughout downtown will have activities for families and you might even spot Captain Jack Sparrow! Grab a passport and play for a chance to win raffle baskets.

September 8

• Kent International Festival – Kent
  

  Kent’s International Festival and Passport Excursion will take place at the Dan Smith Community Park and in downtown Kent businesses after the fourth annual Run the World 5K. From 11am to 4pm, live multi-cultural performances will be featured at the Dan Smith Community Park.

  Many downtown businesses will participate in a Passport Excursion, offering activities and food/beverage samples from the countries they choose to represent. Many will also feature information about the various study abroad programs available at Kent State. Passports will be available for purchase for $5 at “Customs” in the Dan Smith Community Park that day; race participants will receive complementary passports in their race day packets. Passport Excursion participants will receive a stamp for each passport destination visited. The first one hundred passport holders to return to “Customs” with their completed passports will receive a prize.

September 10

• Speed Mob – Marietta
  

  This Cash Mob event features three downtown businesses and is a Speed Mob! Speed Mob participants get to enjoy a trolley ride to each Cash Mob location downtown for this extra fun, extra special mob event with extra fun, extra special giveaways.

September 12

• Revitalization Series Workshop – Painesville
  

  Join Heritage Ohio in Painesville on September 12th for the 4th Revitalization Series Workshop of 2018. The focus of this workshop will be on organizations. We will start the day with a discussion on the importance of public and private partnerships when it comes to the critical work of revitalizing your community and what makes a good partnership, followed by a conversation on board development. After lunch, there will be a panel discussion with several Chambers of Commerce who work alongside Main Street Programs in their communities.

September 14

• Charity Golf Scramble – Delaware
  

  Get your team together and head to the Delaware Golf Club for Main Street Delaware’s Charity Golf Scramble.

• Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival – Tiffin
  

  Head over to Tiffin for the Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival, Ohio’s 8th largest festival. The “Living Village” is located at Hedges Boyer Park and you can step back in time with reenactments, activities, music and vendors. The “Downtown Area” has family friendly entertainment including amusement rides, children’s areas, games, food vendors and more.

September 15

• Hot Diggity Dog – Vermilion
  

  Enjoy quality time with your dog during this new Main Street event: Hot Diggity Dog Day. Held at the foot of Main Street in Vermilion you’ll find vendors, dog games and fun, prizes, kid activities, giveaways, off leash beach time and more followed by the Strutt Your Mutt Parade. Dress your dog in nautical or beach attire and compete for titles and prizes in the Most Beachworthy, Most Seaworthy and Judges Choice. Each registrant also receives a Wag Bag, filled with dog swag.

• 15th Annual Wooster Arts Jazz Fest – Wooster
  

  The 15th Annual Wooster Arts Jazz Fest returns to downtown Wooster with all-day jazz, a juried art show, Huntington National Bank Kids’ Creation Station, gourmet food, a Chalk Art Gallery, and the always-popular Dixieland Jazz Parade.

September 16

• Harvest Handmade Market – Chardon
  

  The Harvest Handmade Market is a village-fair style shopping event located on the Historical Chardon Square. At the Harvest Handmade Market, you will find unique handmade goods, vintage finds and delicious food. For this event you will be able to browse through approximately 75 creative booths filled with amazing handmade and vintage finds.

• Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival – Tiffin

• Behind the Facade Walking Tours – Tiffin
  

  On Heritage Festival Sunday, tour the now completed Seneca County Justice Center and explore additional nearby historic residential and community sites. Although the Behind the Façade series normally visits businesses or residences in newly renovated or repurposed structures, the Tiffin Historic Trust has also chosen to feature the new Seneca County Justice Center on this weekend that we are celebrating our heritage and our future. Included in the $10 donation fee for adults and $5 for children are tickets to exchange for refreshments at The Renaissance, Put-n-Pita, The LAB Brewery, Reino’s Pizza, and FroZone between 2:00-5:00 that afternoon. Stroll at your leisure, and visit the following sites offered by our engaged and entrepreneurial citizens!

• Knowing Your Home Workshop: Electrical 101  – Lakewood
  

  Join LakewoodAlive for this exciting workshop where participants will be learning electrical basics. The workshop is designed to provide the average homeowner a understanding of electrical current, a home’s electrical map and structure, the different pieces and parts that make up your electrical system as well as safety. Our goal is to empower residents so that they feel comfortable talking, contracting and working with their electrical system. We want to take the shock out of electricity!

  Knowing Your Home is an educational series focused on best sustainability and home maintenance practices empowering residents to tackle necessary repairs and improvements.

• Third Thursday in Downtown Tiffin & Trivia Night – Tiffin
  

  Fall in Love with Downtown Tiffin Autumn is beautiful in Seneca County, don’t miss the chance to visit someplace new and fall in love all over again with Tiffin. Venture over to Trivia Night and show off your knowledge.

• Fall in Love with Downtown Tiffin Block Party – Tiffin
  

  Fall in love with Downtown Tiffin! We are kicking off fall and showing off the new alley with a Block Party! Come down and explore the businesses of 23-54 S. Washington Street. We will have games, activities, food, and much more!

September 21

• Sounds 0f Downtown – Wooster
  

  Come stroll along to wonderful music in Downtown Wooster. Main Street Wooster presents “Sounds of Downtown!” This street music series will feature a variety of musicians and performances throughout the summer season.

September 22

• Fall Festival – Cambridge
  

  Bring the family to downtown Cambridge for a day of fun! There is something for everyone including a style show, wine tasting, kids Pump it Up Zone (bounce houses, face painting and featuring PAW PATROL! Shop the local stores and purchase a mum (or two) while enjoying the historic downtown.

• Kent Oktoberfest – Kent
  

  Join Main Street Kent for the fifth annual Kent Oktoberfest! Presented by Spaten Oktoberfest, this event features seasonal beers, German food, polka dancing, yodeling contests and live music on Franklin Ave. and W. Erie St. in downtown Kent. Free entry. $10 for one commemorative beer mug and one beer ticket. Additional beer tickets $5 each. NEW mug design this year! Non-alcoholic beverages will be available from food vendors. Live polka music from 12-3pm. A variety of other live music 3:30-10pm.

• Knowing Your Home Workshop: Weatherization Basics  – Lakewood
  

  Join LakewoodAlive and Cleveland Lumber Company for a workshop designed to help you get your home in tip-top shape for the fall and winter months. The workshop will highlight a wide range of middle to high impact improvements and “hacks” that you can do yourself that will help to keep the cold air out and your warm and cozy air inside. It will also cover caulking and air sealing techniques, installation of weatherstripping, benefits of storm doors and windows and other easy to do tasks that will make your home more efficient. It will also cover the benefits of an energy audit and how it can help make large projects like insulation, furnace or air conditioning replacement or a hot water tank replacement easier and more cost beneficial. Lastly, it will focus on all essential tasks to put your home to bed for the winter, ensuring that it winters safely as possible, these tips will help to keep exterior pipes from freezing etc.

• Volunteer Meet-N-Mix – Chardon
  

  Join Chardon Tomorrow board members, volunteers, and staff to learn more about our work in the community and how you can get involved! There are opportunities for community members of all ages and all levels of commitment. Light refreshments (including M&M’s–get it–Mix-n-Meet) will be available. Chardon themed giveaways, t-shirts, and prizes for attendees!

September 28

• Final Friday Pub Crawl – Mount Vernon
  

  Enjoy a fun, adults-only night out on the town! Main Street Mount Vernon is hosting a downtown Pub Crawl on Friday, September 28th. Tickets are $20 per person and include a complimentary Pub Crawl koozie, exclusive drink specials from participating businesses, live music and an entry into giveaways at each location which includes gift cards, t-shirts and more.

• Mum Festival Cruise-In – Tipp City
  

  The Mum Festival Antique and Show Car Cruise-In packs the historic downtown area with hundreds of quality and unique vehicles for the largest festival car show in the state. Come downtown to enjoy the cars, music, food, and family fun!

• Final Friday Summer Send-Off: Speed Volunteering & Shop Hop – Troy
  

  Volunteer booths will be located outside Troy Memorial Stadium. For every five minutes you volunteer, you receive a discount card to downtown businesses. The more you volunteer, the more discounts you earn!

  Downtown stores will be open late during the Final Friday Shop Hop.

September 29

• Kent Better Block – Kent
  

  Kent Better Block is a day-long event celebrating what this area is, and envisioning what we’d like to create for the future. It will be a moment for the whole City of Kent to celebrate this neighborhood’s past and present and envision the bright future that lies ahead.

  We want to temporarily demonstrate the potential North Water has to offer and what it could look like. The street will be filled with community members gathering around bump out seating, improved crosswalks, pop-up shops, murals, and added greenery while honoring the rich history of the street itself.

  Pedestrians and cyclists are encouraged to explore the street, engage with businesses and activities, enjoy community spaces, and check out local artists. Come and bring your family to see what it’s like to build a Better Block right here in Kent!

• Motors N’ Music – Tiffin
  

  Classic cars take over historic downtown Tiffin for Motors N’ Music. Stay for The Right Now! performing during the East Green Concert Series. All proceeds from the event will benefit Reclaim It in Tiffin and The East Green Summer Concert Series.

• Tipp City Mum Festival Parade – Tipp City
  

  A Tipp City tradition since 1959! Line the streets and bring a lawn chair if you’d like to view the parade as it traverses Downtown Tipp City’s Main Street at it’s peak and then travels to the park where the rest of the festivities will take place.

• Harvest Moon Festival & Market – Van Wert
  

  Van Wert’s Favorite Fall Festival is BACK on Saturday, September 29th in the heart of Downtown. Harvest Moon Festival will feature the 4th Annual Outhouse Races, Food Trucks, Family Activities, Live Music, Main Street Merchants and more. Be sure to check out the Harvest Moon Market, a new event for this year’s festival.
