Heritage Ohio is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2019 Preservation Month Photo Contest and we need your help selecting the winner!

Take a look at the finalists below and vote for your favorite at the bottom of the page by Wednesday, May 29, 2019. We will be announcing the winner by May 31 as Preservation Month comes to an end.

    This building is the most historic building in Kent but its back story (from decades ago), is the foundation of preservation in Kent. The attitude of the people that saved this building is what Heritage Ohio and the Main Street Program is about. Faced with demolition of the historic depot, in a town (Kent) that was still reeling from the events of May 4th on the Kent State Campus, a group of citizens decided to make it their job to save the building. Their personal sacrifice and commitment kept this building standing as they personally worked to renovate the depot and bring it back to life.
    The photo is a great one and I hope it wins.

    Both photos are outstanding. I like being inside a unique space and seeing how it relates to the outside, and the views that one experiences. This can often provoke discussions of what the surrounding area was like when the structure that you are standing in was built.
