The 2019 Heritage Ohio Annual Preservation and Revitalization Conference will be held in historic downtown Newark, October 21-23, at The DoubleTree Hotel Newark.

We have brought together the leaders of preservation and revitalization to provide you with an exciting and educational set of sessions. We are bringing back many of our popular sessions.

We are once again providing special sessions with the state historic preservation office, covering topics like the National Register, state and federal historic preservation tax credits, and

Special Guests

This year, we are excited to announce our special guest presenters at our conference.

Chief Glenna Wallace of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma will kick off the conference as the opening plenary speaker on Tuesday, October 22.

Chief Wallace was elected into office in 2006 and is the first woman to ever hold this position in her tribe. From 1968 to 2006, Chief Wallace worked at Crowder College.  She spent over 38 years in various capacities at the college; some of her positions included: Interim Academic Dean, Department Chair of Communications, Director of International Travel and Director of Adult Basic Education (GED). Chief Wallace holds degrees from several institutions, which include an Ed.S., M.A. and B.A. from Pittsburg State University and Post Graduate Studies at Tulsa, Arkansas, and Southwest Missouri State Universities.

The opening plenary is open to the public.
