Recurring Events

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland

    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.

  • Restaurant Week – Medina

    Join Main Street Medina for Medina Restaurant Week, October 5-20, and try the best of locally-owned and operated restaurants in Medina.

October 1

  • Cash Mob Monday – Marietta

    Cash Mobs are the perfect way to shop local, have fun, and meet new people in our community all at the same time.

    Each Cash Mob event focuses on supporting local business in downtown Marietta. Once participants show up at the initial meeting location, clues will be provided to learn the surprise location(s) of the evening’s Cash Mob event!

    No participant walks away empty-handed, whether it’s a refreshment, discount, sticker, or goody bag giveaway.

  • Show Me the Money! Workshop – Tiffin

    Come learn about the programs, grants, and loans offered by agencies in Ohio. Learn how you can be tapping into creative solutions for the challenges you face in your community.

    There is no charge to attend this half-day training.

  • Walk n Wag Fun Run/Walk – Cambridge

    As part of Cambridge Main Street’s First Friday, United Way will feature a 5k or 1 mile fun run/walk with your furry friend. Participants are encouraged to wear a costume. The grand prize will have your pet riding in the Christmas parade as grand fur marshall!

  • First Friday: Breast Cancer Survivor/Representative Reception – Cambridge

    A reception honoring and remembering breast cancer survivors will be held. Wine and light appetizers will be served following a survivor photo on the steps of the courthouse. Survivors are also invited to participate in the Walk N Wag Pet Walk. Dogs from Pound Partners will be available to walk.

  • First Friday: Paws & Prevention – Delaware

    With your $10 registration, pets will receive a map of pet-friendly locations where they will receive a treat for their treat bag. Facebook “likes” on each pet’s photo will elect your pet the “Grand Furry Marshal” of our Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 2! In addition, the Delaware County District Library will award best dog costume in honor of their third annual Great GeekFest comic-con.

  • First Friday: Art Walk – Kent

    Join Main Street Kent for the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Kent! All participating galleries and businesses will stay open until at least 8pm on the first Friday of each month, for all to come enjoy and explore the artwork inside their businesses. Enjoy refreshments, enter in special drawings, view artist demonstrations and participate in activities throughout the downtown district.

  • First Friday: Fall Fest – Marietta

    October’s First Friday is Fall Fest! West Virginia University at Parkersburg will feature a mini Fall Festival on the lawn of the Armory with lots of games, pop-up tents, and fun activities.

  • First Friday – Medina

    Spend a Friday evening in the Medina Historic District, and visit the wonderful shops, boutiques, attractions, and so much more. Many stores open until 9pm. Planned activities include live music at different businesses, pop up art shows, and special sales.

  • First Friday: Italian Fest – Middletown

    Ciao! Join Downtown Middletown to celebrate all things ITALIAN at this new First Friday! Of course there will be plenty of Italian food available, music, homemade pizzelles and more!

  • First Friday: Progressive Dinner – Tipp City

    Tour Downtown Tipp City while satisfying your taste buds! October’s First Friday event will feature our downtown eateries with samples of their delicious favorites! You’ll receive a guide book of the stops with their samples ranging the courses of a meal. Decide whether you’ll finish traditionally with dessert, or eat dessert first! Some locations will have drinks to quench your thirst along the way.

  • First Friday: Wadsworth Oktoberfest – Wadsworth

    Join Main Street Wadsworth for a new twist on an old favorite! Oktoberfest is a First Friday event this year! While all of the usual First Friday fun will be going on, four local restaurants will transform their outdoor seating into mini “biergartens”.

  • 1st Annual Mill Fest – Middletown

    Join Rolling Mill Brewing Company for our version of Oktoberfest! Great food, live music, games, and chances to win FREE Rolling Mill Brewing Company swag!

  • Main Street Sidewalk & Street Sale – Portsmouth

    Join Main Street Portsmouth downtown as we close Second Street to welcome outside vendors and bring the brick and mortar businesses to the sidewalks, for a day of the sidewalk sales that used to fill our streets. We will also have an inflatable for kids to enjoy while parents shop, as well as music on location.

  • Ladies Night Out – Medina

    It’s witches night out! Dress as your favorite spooky gal and explore the district with friends.

  • Wine & Beer Tasting – Wooster

    Your evening will include wine & beer tastings at these Downtown Restaurants & Merchants – Artfind Tile, Meatheads Union, Clothes Minded Boutique, and City Square Steakhouse.

    Enjoy unique wines, craft wines, and savory hors d’oeuvres chosen for you by City Square Steakhouse, Meatheads Union, Spoon Market, Broken Rocks, Buehler’s Fresh Foods, Phoenix Brewing, Troutman Vineyards, Blue Barn Winery, and JAFB Wooster Brewery. Live Music.

October 12

  • Dog Day Downtown – Middletown

    Downtown Middletown is going to the dogs, again! This evening is all about you and your best friend! Bring your BFF’s (Best Furry Friends) to downtown Middletown to enjoy loads of free treats, free vaccinations, $20 Microchipping, explore multiple animal rescues, fun shopping and more! Check-in with us at Governors Square (corner of Central Ave & Broad St) to grab your Doggie Bag and guide for the evening. From there, you can collect free dog treats and goodies from local businesses downtown.

October 13

  • Monster Mash + Bash – Chardon

    Fun for the whole family, we’ll host a daytime trick-or-treat on the Square plus some not-so-scary activities. In the evening, we’ll provide Haunted Chardon Tours along with dining and drink specials throughout the Square!

  • Howl’oween Pooch Parade – Lebanon

    Happy Howl’oween! Fun Costume Contest, speakers from the stage, and a chance to parade around with everyone!

  • Monster Bash – Middletown

    Our favorite bash! Get your costume and your dancing shoes! Kid zone, costume contests and so much more! We can’t wait for this one!

  • Downtown Tiffin Pumpkin Stroll – Tiffin

    Don’t miss the fall event of the year in beautiful Downtown Tiffin! Spend the day strolling from business to business gathering pumpkin themed treats!

  • Hocus Pocus Halloween & Creepy Car Show – Middletown

    Hocus Pocus Halloween is back and better than ever! We will kick the day off with a fun, family friendly festival outside on S. Main Street (between Central Ave & 1st Ave) from 1 p.m. to Dusk. Enjoy food & craft vendors, dance troupes, music, Howl-o-ween dog costume contest & parade, kids games and activities! The day wraps up with a free screening of the full length feature film, Hocus Pocus, at dusk. The Hocus Pocus Family Fun Festival is FREE, so grab your spell books and get to downtown Middletown!

  • Historic Home Tour – Wellington

    Come and enjoy 7 Homes Built Between 1820-1920. This walking tour takes you inside some of the gorgeous homes we have here in Wellington.

  • Knowing Your Home Workshop: How to Stock Your Toolbox – Lakewood

    Join LakewoodAlive for a workshop that will help to take the guesswork out of what it takes to have a well stocked tool box. We are thrilled to be partnering with Glenn of Lakewood Hardware to help us pick the right tools for the job of taking care of our wonderfully aging housing stock.

    Knowing Your Home is an educational series focused on best sustainability and home maintenance practices empowering homeowners to tackle necessary repairs and improvements.

  • Third Thursday: Ghouls Night Out – Tiffin

    Grab your friends, your sisters, your mom and have a “ghouls” night out. Check out the shops and grab a drink… or dinner and dessert too!

  • The Nina & Pinta Visit Marietta – Marietta

    Visit Marietta Ohio is excited to welcome The Columbus Foundation and their two Columbus replica ships – their original Niña, the most historically accurate replica of a Columbus Ship ever built, and their newer Pinta. Both The Niña and Pinta will be touring together as a new and enhanced ‘sailing museum’, for the purpose of educating the public and school children on the ‘caravel’, a Portuguese ship used by Columbus and many early explorers to discover the world.

  • Spooky Pooch Parade – Lakewood

    This one is for the dogs…but you’re invited, too. LakewoodAlive’s 11th Annual Spooky Pooch Parade brings the bark to Kauffman Park , when dogs will rule the day in Downtown Lakewood.

    The Spooky Pooch Parade consists of a free-to-attend festival in Kauffman Park, a parade through Lakewood’s downtown business district on Detroit Avenue and an awards presentation. A favorite Halloween tradition for Northeast Ohio dog lovers and their families, this community festival represents one of the only events of its kind in the region, providing a tail-wagging good time for canine and human guests alike.

  • Downtown Painesville Halloween Party – Painesville

    21 and over party. Show up in your best costumes to be entered into the costume contest. Enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

  • Tiffin Zombie Run – Tiffin

    The Tiffin Zombie Run is a fun 5K run or run/walk open to all ages. Try to finish the race with out having the zombies hidden throughout the course steal one of the sashes you will be wearing! Refreshments will be provided. Awards given for best dressed zombie and placement in race according to age. Award ceremony taking place shortly after the race! After the ceremony, head over to the Zombie Bash at Berg Bistro 1850 for zombie themed food and drinks!

  • Downtown Merchants’ Trick-or-Treat & Scavenger Hunt – Tipp City

    Join the shopkeeper’s of historic downtown Tipp City for the annual Merchant Trick or Treat & Scavenger Hunt! Dress up in your best costume while you venture from shop to shop gathering treats and clues along the way. Fill out the scavenger hunt card for a chance to win a prize basket from the merchants! Open to all ages!

  • Harvest Fest – Tipp City

    Adults…join Downtown Tipp City Partnership for live music, food, and drinks! FREE admission. Be prepared for a spooktacular night filled with costume contests, great music, and a beer tent featuring craft and domestic drinks to those 21 and over. Mark your calendars and get those costumes ready!

  • Fall Tour in the Warehouse District – Cleveland

    Experience the Warehouse District’s historical residential buildings and get an exclusive look inside neighborhood homes with panoramic views of the lake and the skyline. At each location, you’ll enjoy delicious food tastings paired with beers and wine. Tickets now available.

  • 10th Annual Lakewood Chocolate Walk – Lakewood

    Calling all chocolate lovers – get ready to celebrate a decade of chocolate decadence! A delectably memorable evening awaits when the 10th Annual Lakewood Chocolate Walk takes place on Thursday, October 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Downtown Lakewood.

    The Chocolate Walk – hosted by the Downtown Lakewood Business Alliance and LakewoodAlive – represents a popular autumn tradition with a devout following of chocoholics from all over Northeast Ohio and beyond. Participants visit more than 20 shops and eateries in Downtown Lakewood that are Sweet Stops on the Chocolate Walk, with each providing a unique chocolate treat.

  • Knowing Your Home Workshop: Plumbing 101 – Lakewood

    Join LakewoodAlive for our Inaugural plumbing workshop. We will focus on:
    – plumbing as a system
    – how the system works
    – what types of materials plumbing is made out of
    – common problems and repairs
    – updating and what that means
    – watersaving options

    Our discussion will be led by John Turner . Please feel free to bring questions and photos with you.

    Bring those little ghosts and goblins to “The Burg” for our annual Halloween Parade. Prizes given for 1st and 2nd places and Judges Choice.

  • Ghosts & Ghouls Costume Ball – Middletown

    Head to the stunningly spooked-out Windamere Event Center, for a Halloween party like no other! This is a ticketed event and for our 21 and over friends only. The evening will feature the rocking band Dangerous Jim and the Slims, interactive games, costume contests, spooky snacks, cash bar + more! Each ticket will receive one complimentary signature, spirited cocktail. Tricks and treats will be around every corner, this is sure to be an evening that will haunt you forever. Oh, and no scaredy-cats, the décor will be frightening!

  • Boo in the Burg & Wine Tasting – Millersburg

    Come be a Victim, I mean visitor during Boo in the Burg! Tours will begin at 5:00. Our tours will consist of some of our most haunted and notorious buildings and come complete with Ghost Busting Equipment. Our wine tasting will begin at 6:00 and will feature some of our regions best grape induced beverages. Live music will help drown out the squeals and groans coming from the tours! All local pubs and restaurants will also be getting in on the action and will feature their own brand of Halloween fun.

  • Hometown Halloween – Troy

    Join Troy Main Street for a costume contest, parade, and trick-or-treat with the downtown merchants makes for an adorably haunted downtown.

  • Wass-in-Space! – Van Wert

    Ready to space out? Retro, glam, Sci-fi, Star Wars, Bowie, Bauhaus. Just be weird. While we have some favorites we’ve changed things up. More dancing. Gourmet food truck, bizarre activities. Thrills and chills from the stratosphere! Experience this bizarre and space odyssey in dance form. Aliens, cosmic punks, galactic ooze, retro video games, yeah, custom console. Come hither.
