Recurring Events

  • Take a Hike – Cleveland

    Take a Hike offers six (FREE!) guided walking tours of distinct neighborhoods in downtown Cleveland! Weekly tours explore the Gateway District, University Circle, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square neighborhood and Canal Basin Park in the Flats. Each tour lasts approximately one and a half hours in length, and features actors and actresses portraying historic figures from Cleveland’s past. Check the website for the full schedule of tours.

  • Dickens Victorian Village – Cambridge

    Take a trip back in time and experience old world England as historic downtown Cambridge, Ohio, is charmingly transformed into a Dickens Victorian Village each holiday season. From November through mid January each year, visitors are invited to stroll amidst over 92 scenes of 166 lifelike figures representing classic scenes from Victorian society. While in Cambridge, experience the spectacular Guernsey County Courthouse Light Show.

  • North Pole Express – Lebanon

    The LM&M Railroad will have our station area decorated with lights for the Christmas season. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available on the platform while you wait for your train and are included with your ticket. Each passenger will receive one cookie that is peanut free, egg free, tree nut free, and dairy free. Every passenger will receive a FREE souvenir hot chocolate mug. Each child will receive a special “North Pole Express” souvenir train ticket.
    During the hour long journey Santa and his elves will make their way through the train to visit with each family. Every child will receive a bell from Santa’s sleigh. We encourage you to bring your own camera, pictures with Santa are allowed and encouraged. Balloon artists will also be on-board the train.

  • Annual Christmas Parade Auction & Fundraiser – Mount Vernon

    Join us for the 2018 Christmas Parade Auction! Support an annual holiday tradition in downtown Mount Vernon while gaining publicity for your business!

    Starting a new tradition: A gift card tree will be on display, with your $20 donation, you will have the chance at pulling a gift card valued between $5-$100. All proceeds will be donated to the 2018 Christmas Walk and Main Street Mount Vernon.

  • First Friday: Dickens of a Christmas Street Fair – Cambridge

    A fun filled evening celebrating the kick off of the Dickens festivities. Father Christmas, magician, stilt walkers and the start of the courthouse light show! Ohio Magazine will also be in hand for the presentation of the Best Hometown Award!

  • First Friday: Celebrate Service – Delaware

    This first Friday event will feature Delaware County nonprofit organizations. The not for profit organizations will provide giveaways, information, and opportunities for people to get more involved in community service. November’s First Friday also will feature games, face-painting, cooking demonstrations, and more family-friendly fun.

  • First Friday: Art Walk – Kent

    Join Main Street Kent for the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Kent! All participating galleries and businesses will stay open until at least 8pm on the first Friday of each month, for all to come enjoy and explore the artwork inside their businesses. Enjoy refreshments, enter in special drawings, view artist demonstrations and participate in activities throughout the downtown district.

  • First Friday: Future Pioneers – Marietta

    November’s First Friday is Future Pioneers. Downtown is set to welcome and encourage all of our local young entrepreneurs to come downtown. This month’s sponsor is Marietta College, who will be located on the Armory Square. In attendance will be the Entrepreneur Program from the College, as well as Student Athletes. Local downtown businesses will be host to several local young entrepreneurs, who own and manage their own business and invite other youth of the like into their shops! Come join us to celebrate all of those who pioneer their own way!

    Also on the Armory Square, Marietta College will be providing giveaways for those who shop local, so come down to shop our local shops.

  • First Friday – Medina

    Spend a Friday evening in the Medina Historic District, and visit the wonderful shops, boutiques, attractions, and so much more. Many stores open until 9pm. Planned activities include live music at different businesses, pop up art shows, and special sales.

  • Thanksgiving Side Dish Food Drive – Medina

    When you’re heading to First Friday, don’t forget to bring a side dish for the Thanksgiving Side Dish Food Drive. Join Main Street Medina and Feeding Medina County in helping others have a happy Thanksgiving.

  • First Friday: Ale in Autumn – Middletown

    Downtown Middletown has planned a evening full of Ale in Autumn fav’s and tons of NEW activities and happenings, including Flannel Fever, DORA specials, Ale in Autumn Beer(d) competition, and the Lincoln Log Lumberjack Competition.

  • First Friday: Ladies Night – Mount Vernon

    Main Street Mount Vernon is excited to again host the upcoming Ladies’ Night in downtown Mount Vernon. This adult-only event will feature open-till-8:00 pm downtown businesses, restaurants, galleries, and more.

  • Movie Night – Tipp City

    We will kick off at 5:30pm with a showing of Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving. Immediately following (around 6:30pm) we will show “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” This is a free event! Bring your own lawn chair and blankets. Join us on the lawn of the Zion Lutheran Church at the corner of N. 3rd and Main St. Downtown.

  • First Friday: Chocolate Walk – Wadsworth

    Walk around to different downtown “chocolate stops” to receive a unique chocolate treat at each business or organization!

  • Shop Small Holiday Expo – Portsmouth

    The Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Portsmouth are teaming up to host the first Shop Small Holiday Expo in the Scioto County Welcome Center, where local neighbors can come together and shop, or plan their shopping lists, based on area businesses or experienced crafters from their own community. You don’t need to order on Amazon or leave town for that special gift. We look forward to seeing you soon!

  • Chardon Macaroni Fest – Chardon

    Did you know one of the industries Chardon was built on was macaroni? Yes, Macaroni! The Chardon Macaroni Factory was a major employer in the early days of Chardon–and we want to celebrate it! Guests will travel around the square scoring Macaroni dishes, special drinks, games, contests and activities! We’ll be partnering with local non profits and businesses to create a weekend-long event that celebrates our historic culture and culinary future!

  • Grip It & Sip It Mini Golf on the Town – Middletown

    Spend the afternoon in Downtown Middletown visiting our great downtown businesses and playing a unique hole of mini-golf at each! Cash prizes! All proceeds will go to our Middletown First Responders, the Middletown Fire Department Fire!

    Bring your own putter and golf ball or use one supplied by the bars and businesses. Bring your own gallery and enjoy food & drink specials during a day of golf and laughs where fun is par for the course! And don’t forget team costumes are highly encouraged!

  • Downtown Piqua Holiday Horse Parade – Piqua

    Imagine horse-drawn carriages, hitches and riders, all outfitted with Holiday Lights, making their way down Main Street. Christmas banners and decorated street trees will create an amazing backdrop for this dazzlingly fun family-friendly event.

  • Historic Main Street Chicken Dinner – Van Wert

    Historic Main Street Van Wert is selling Chicken Dinners to help raise money for our downtown Christmas lighting on November 30th. All proceeds will go to improve the Christmas atmosphere for downtown of Van Wert.

  • 34th Medina Candlelight Walk – Medina

    Join Main Street Medina in celebrating the 34th year of Medina’s Candlelight Walk – Northeast Ohio’s kick-off to the holiday season!  The celebration features over 2 miles of LED lights highlighting the traditional Victorian Square and buildings; over 1,500 luminaries; lighting of a 10′ tall community Christmas Tree in the Gazebo; Iconic traditional ‘Parade of Lights’ through the heart of town; Santa and Mrs. Claus arrival; Entertainment; Shopping and more!

  • Wadsworth Candlelight Walk – Wadsworth

    Make your way downtown to Wadsworth’s Annual Candlelight Walk on Friday, November 16 from 6-9 p.m.!
    Join Santa, the Mayor and the Salvation Army to light the downtown Christmas Tree located in the gazebo! Horse-drawn carriage rides, children’s scavenger hunt, carolers, pictures with Santa, and much more offered by the downtown businesses and organizations! This kick-off of the Christmas Season will continue the next day with a lovely and joyous cantata. Many singers from various Wadsworth churches will present Canticles in Candlelight (a Cantata for Christmas) by Joseph M. Martin on Saturday, November 17, at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ.

  • Window Wonderland – Wooster

    Horse drawn carriage rides, beautifully decorated storefront windows, Santa descending from the rooftop, free hot chocolate, live reindeer, and lots of food & drink specials at Downtown Wooster stores & restaurants are all what make Window Wonderland a treasured event. On Friday, November 16th from 7 – 9:30PM, Downtown Wooster transforms into a winter wonderland. Merchants compete to have the best decorated windows and a stroll through downtown with the twinkling lights and holiday activities is truly magical. Join us for this annual kickoff of the holiday season!

  • Deck the Halls Downtown! – Marietta

    Marietta Main Street needs all hands on deck this year to decorate Downtown Marietta for the holidays! We will be prepping the wreaths and garland to be hung on poles, hanging our holiday flags, cleaning up our sidewalks and bump outs, and of course – hanging all of our decor! It takes a village, so please invite your friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, fellow church members, civic groups – the more, the merrier!

  • Christmas Open House & Chocolate Walk – Millersburg

    Join Historic Downtown Millersburg & their merchants for a Christmas Open House & Chocolate Walk for “A Decadent Day of Chocolate & Shopping!” Purchase your ticket-which you will present at your first stop where you will receive an empty box and your first piece of delicious Coblentz Chocolates. Continue your stroll through the Burg shopping and collecting your chocolates. The shops will not only be decorated for the holidays but the sales will be creative and delicious! What could possibly make this any better? How about the pubs and restaurants putting their own spin on “chocolate”. Stop in to receive your chocolate…and find out what they paired it with!

  • Downtown Holiday Open House – Portsmouth

    An early preview of Small Business Saturday, the annual shopping event known as the Holiday Open House welcomes the community downtown to begin Christmas gift plans. This is independently organized by each downtown retailer, where they will offer various discounts and sales, along with other holiday treats, for shoppers. The best gift you can give isn’t only the special, unique find in a local retailer, but the business you keep local! See you downtown soon!

  • Wadsworth Candlelight Walk – Wadsworth

  • Small Shop Saturday – Chardon

    Stay local this holiday season! Join the Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce and Chardon Tomorrow–along with our local businesses–to celebrate Small Business Saturday. Stop by the Heritage House to grab free doughnuts and coffee and pick up your shopping passport–then shop ’til you drop at participating locations. We’ll have free gift wrap for locally purchased items and be raffling off prizes for completed passports!

  • Breakfast with Santa – Lakewood

    Breakfast with Santa returns to Downtown Lakewood when Jolly Saint Nick himself visits O’Neill Healthcare Lakewood. This popular holiday tradition consists of “Selfies with Santa” photo opportunities (bring your own camera), a seated breakfast (pancakes, eggs and sausage) and a children’s activity room featuring opportunities to write letters to the North Pole. This fun-filled, family-friendly event is open to all ages and is anticipated to sell out quickly. Tickets for both seatings (9 and 10:30 a.m.) of Breakfast with Santa are on sale now.

  • Lighted Christmas Parade – Marietta

    Our annual evening holiday parade will include floats, dance routines, carolers, and much more, all complete with festive Christmas lights. As usual, Santa Claus will make his appearance in the parade as well! After the parade, view the lighting of the City of Marietta’s Brand New, 22′ tall Christmas Tree at the Armory.

  • Small Business Saturday in Downtown Middletown – Middletown

  • Portsmouth Today – Portsmouth

    Through an upcoming quarterly public forum, the Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Portsmouth are working in part with Community Action to bring the community together, build momentum on progress, and focus attention on just how much goes on that often goes unnoticed.

    The event is being called Portsmouth Today, and will be held every three months in the Scioto County Welcome Center. It will highlight positivity by focusing on a series of speakers who will update guests on their public events and projects, answer questions anyone may have, and hear input from those in attendance. Bring your calendars ready to be filled out!

  • First Friday: A ThankFULL Holiday – Delaware

    Live the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday by joining family, friends, and neighbors downtown for November’s First Friday, Thankfull Holiday, sponsored by the United Way of Delaware County Hunger Alliance. Celebrate the joys of the season and put nourishing food on the table for ALL in our community.
    There will be lots of fun, free activities for the whole family. Bring a shelf-stable food donation to fill oversized shopping carts throughout the downtown and share what you are thankful for on our Gratitude Wall. For every 5 or 10 items donated, receive a shopping pass for 5% or 10% off at participating businesses. In addition, there will be children’s crafts, face painting, and street magic performances by Magic Nate.

  • First Friday: Chocolate Walk – Greenville

    Explore the shops of downtown Greenville and receive some delicious chocolate along the way. Tickets are on sale now.

  • Marie Antoinette Festival – Marietta

    In 1788, the oldest town in Ohio was christened ‘Marietta’ to honor Queen Marie Antoinette and acknowledge the French for their support of the American Revolution. Now we celebrate that connection in royal style with a 3 day Festival for Marie Antoinette’s birthday!

  • First Friday: Family Movie Night – Tipp City

    Join us downtown for November’s First Friday event where the Tipp City Public Library co-hosts with us to present a showing of Tim Burton’s ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas,’ thanks to assistance of a grant from the Tipp Foundation! Bring a blanket and/or lawn chair to the corner of N. 3rd & Main St. at the Zion Lutheran Church lawn.

    Join LakewoodAlive and Cleveland Lumber Company for a presentation about Kitchen Remodeling. This workshop will focus on the process of remodeling your kitchen start to finish. Our Presenter will highlight the construction process, what to expect through out and the ways to get the most bang for your buck. Kitchen remodeling can be a pricey endeavor. This workshop will help you take the guess work out of the process and enable you to work smarter and get the results that you want within your budget and your timeline.

    Members representing UpGrade Ohio and the Southeast Ohio Public Energy Council will discuss the latest opportunities available for Southeast Ohio communities and local businesses within the scope of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and public and private alternative vehicle improvements and investments. The workshop will include information about state-funded grants and financing for energy usage upgrades (through electricity and gas utility usage), a free renewable energy assistance program, community choice aggregation, mercantile customer pricing and demand response initiatives, energy performance contracts, and much more! Local communities, like the Marietta region, have much to gain as we move to cleaner and more affordable energy choices in the future.

    Each year, on the Sunday following Thanksgiving, people of all ages line the streets of downtown Mount Vernon for our traditional Christmas Parade and Walk. The smell of roasted nuts and cinnamon fills the air, children enjoy train and carousel rides, families get photos with Santa, and mom and dad shop for those one-of-a-kind holiday gifts. It’s a heart-warming time of celebration and community, brought together amidst the wonderful backdrop of beautiful, historic downtown Mount Vernon.
