Join us for a deep-dive explanation on the Federal and State Historic Tax Credit incentives for historic building rehabilitation. Learn how to qualify, apply, and use the financing tools you need to breathe new life into your historic structures.
The seminar is presented thanks to generous funding by The Nord Family Foundation and the Community Foundation of Lorain County, in partnership with Heritage Ohio.

Join us August 2 – 3 for this awesome wood windows workshop weekend!
They’re caked with paint, riddled with cracked glass, drafty, and they’ve been stuck shut longer than you’ve been alive. If we’ve described the window situation in your historic house, then it’s time to do something about it, and we don’t mean replace them.

This 2-day workshop series offers up to 14 AIA HSW continuing education credits in total!
Friday and Saturday Hands-On Workshop
If you’ve ever wanted to learn about making your old windows functional, energy efficient, or just more attractive; or, if you’re ready to tackle your own windows DIY project, but don’t know where to begin, then the weekend hands-on workshop is the answer for you! Over the course of two days, you will learn about:
– the basics of window anatomy,
– freeing up your stuck windows,
– installing weather stripping,
– repairing weight ropes and chains,
– cutting and replacing glass, and
– re-glazing window sash.

2019 Quarterly Revitalization Series: Design
Join us in Van Wert as we explore Design in Downtown. We have several speakers lined up to talk with you about local projects as well as hands-on opportunities to do some placemaking in Downtown Van Wert. We will have sessions on painting colorful crosswalks, opportunities to discover how temporary signage can increase foot traffic in your downtown as well as a chance to spruce up an existing pedestrian alleyway. Please come prepared by wearing comfortable shoes and clothes that you do not mind getting splashed with a little paint. Lunch will be on your own in downtown so you will have plenty of time to explore what Main Street Van Wert has to offer. We look forward to seeing you downtown!
2019 Quarterly Revitalization Series: Organization
Join Heritage Ohio in Mount Vernon on February 13th for the 1st Revitalization Series Workshop of 2019. The focus of this workshop will be on organization. For those new to leadership roles, we will have an overview of Robert’s Rules of Order. We will then be exploring many critical topic to the success of your organization including choosing the right leaders, the executive director relationship with the board, and the relationship between community, identity, and fundraising. Personal development is a critical component of being a successful leader and we will be rounding out the workshop by exploring personality types and the emotional quotient to gain a better understanding of your own strengths and those you work with. Light breakfast from the North Main Café will be provided and as always, you will have the opportunity to explore this Main Street community and grab a bite to eat as a local establishment.
